18.01.2022 Stapell is seeking a current or past professional dog trainer or experience service dog puppy raiser to finish raising already started guide dog puppies (from around 6-months-old to 16-months-old) until they enter formal training. Will only have one puppy at a time. ESSENTIAL: 1) Must have the relevant experience or qualifications necessary to professionally train young pups for service dog foundational skills. ... 2) Must have own car. 3) Must be physically able to work with Labrador Retriever and German Shepherd pups. 4) Must have availability to meet weekly for progress walks. 5) Live within a reasonable distance to HQ in Bracken Ridge or between Bracken Ridge and Caboolture. 6) Be able to take the pup almost everywhere you go. 7) Suitable home environment to have the pup indoors (home inspection). DESIRABLE: 1) NDTF qualification. 2) Non-smoker preferred. 3) Knowledge of guide or assistance dog training. 4) Full or part-time professional trainer or working in an environment that the pup can attend. Be aware, you will not be contacted if you are not currently, or were, a professional dog trainer or experienced service dog puppy raiser. Successful application based on 1-2 working interviews. Based on successful completion of mandatory six-month paid probationary period to start.



14.01.2022 Stapell asks you to welcome Axel into the guide dog training team. Axel is a male, German Shepherd, black, long coat, bred by vonRhys kennels; raised, trained and competed by Lettland Shepherds; trained as an assistance dog and now purchased by Stapell as our newest guide dog-in-training. Axel will be trained by GDMI Cadet Zak Sheppard under GDMI Chapell and is due to finish training August 2021, with placement beginning September 2021. *Please note that our waiting list is currently closed but will reopen soon. If you are currently on the GSD guide waiting list, all matches will go by best match only. Any possible applicants will be contacted by Jason over the next 4-6 months. She is six-years-old (born 3 Jan 2015) and is a 15.3 hand Australian Stock Horse Thoroughbred cross. She has been trained in jumping, dressage, trail riding and a bit of western ranch versatility by Tyson’s Performance Horses. ... Please enquire with Stapell if you’d like to own this beautiful, well-cared for mare. In the below video, Tyson’s trains Dakota how to work with the rider to open ranch gates while mounted.

06.01.2022 STAPELL’s Kyah has put up with much during the rigours of her training. In this video, our resident Bush Turkey assertively tells her she should move on - the turkey backs up to Kyah kicking debris onto her as she patiently sits and then kindly walks away from him.
