17.01.2022 Gwen and Jeff young have transformed their cattle property into a 'magic' bird haven over the past 20 years. In this time they've planted thousands of trees and... covered 9 of their 72 acres with native corridors, changing their landscape and their relationship forever. Gwen said when she first arrived on the farm "there weren't many birds because the paddocks were all bare". BUT after all their hard regeneration work (which sometimes involved planting 600 trees a day) they can now count 122 species of birds. https://www.abc.net.au//port-macdonnell-farmers-t/12801382

14.01.2022 It’s Tawny Time! A guide on whether to intervene or not. It’s now time for young Tawny frogmouths to leave the nest. They will be learning to fly and hunt... during the night with their parents. It is normal for older babies to be on the ground occasionally when they are learning to fly. However if it is a nestling (white fluffball), on the ground, it needs to be picked up, placed gently in a cardboard box and immediately, please then call our 24/7 Hotline for assistance. 5527 2444
