22.01.2022 *Message from Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing.* Hello everyone On Friday the Premier announced changes to the current COVID-19 Stay at Home Direction. The changes are based on new information that SA Health have received. ... As of 12pm Friday 20 November 2020: exercise outside of your home with members of your household is permitted Masks are not mandatory but encouraged Schools will re-open on Monday 23 November 2020 As of 12.01pm on Sunday 22 November Emergency Management (Stay at Home No 3) (COVID-19) Direction 2020 and the Emergency Management (Public Activities No 12) (COVID-19) Direction 2020 comes into effect. In summary these direction includes the following: 1 person per 4 square metres will apply No dancing or vertical consumption All food and beverage consumed seated Personal care workers need to wear masks Gyms are permitted to open Updated gathering provisions being: o Funerals 50 people maximum o Weddings 150 people maximum o Religious ceremonies 100 people maximum o Private gatherings -50 people maximum o Private residences 10 people per house Swimming is allowed for fitness of rehabilitation purposes Indoor and outdoor community sport fixtures and training are prohibited (but does not include elite, professional or intra-school sports) Keep an eye out on https://www.covid-19.sa.gov.au/emergency-declarations and check out the FAQ’s. 16.01.2022 OFFICE FOR RECREATION, SPORT AND RACING GRANTS OPEN Eligible sporting clubs and organisations can now apply for funding through the 2020-2021 suite of infrastructure project grant programs consisting of: Community Recreation and Sport Facilities Program 2020-21 (CRSFP) Grassroots Facilities Program Round 1 (GFP)... Regional and Districts Facilities Program Round 1 (RDFP) In 2020-2021, $24,328,000 is available across the infrastructure projects suite of grant programs which have been streamlined given the existing grant programs' similarities. These programs will assist organisations to develop infrastructure that will enable greater opportunity for participation in active recreation and sport for all South Australians through the rational development of well-designed and utilised facilities. To make the process as easy as possible, the infrastructure project grant programs can be applied for under a single amalgamated application form via SmartyGrants. Who can apply? To be eligible for CRSFP, GFP, and RDFP funding, organisations must: Be a not-for-profit sport club, association or sports facility manager incorporated under the Associations Incorporations Act 1985 (SA); or Be a local council; or Be a school council / board of management; and Be operating for 12 months or longer Note, organisations that hold Gaming Machine Licences will be ineligible for CRSFP funding. For a comprehensive and complete breakdown of eligibility criteria please refer to the guidelines. The three programs align with the objectives of the Game On: Getting South Australia moving initiative which aims to get South Australians moving and enjoying the many social, health and lifestyle benefits sport and recreation provide. Please read the Program Guidelines prior to submitting an application for the infrastructure project grant programs for 2020-2021. Applications close midday on Wednesday 27 January 2021. 15.01.2022 COVID SAfe Check-In has been introduced to enhance contact tracing and keep our community COVID safe Here are some answers to common questions we are receivin...g from the sport and recreation industry. Does my sporting venue need to display a QR code? Yes, all sporting venues including recreation centres, clubs and stadiums must display a QR code aligned to their COVID Safe Plan. Do children have to use the QR code to check in? Children are not required to check in if a parent, carer or guardian can sign in on their behalf. Do I need to record contact details of my staff? Yes, staff will need to use the COVID SAfe Check-In when entering the business. What if people don’t have a smart phone? A paper recording log template will need to be made available as a back-up for people without a smart phone. 11.01.2022 Here's what you need to know about the easing of restrictions that came into effect at midnight last night. For sport and recreation, the following now applies:... Gymnasiums, health clubs, fitness centres, yoga, barre and spin facilities, dance and pilates studios, boot camps and other personal training activities (indoors and outdoors) can operate (1 per 4sqm). Indoor play centres, recreation centres and amusement parks and arcades are temporarily closed. Community sport (indoor/outdoor, contact/non-contact) is temporarily cancelled (expected to resume on 1 December). I will keep you all updated as needed - thanks everyone. Dear Colleagues... The Emergency Management (Public Activities No 12) (COVID-19) Direction 2020 has been released. This comes into effect at 12:01 am on 22 November 2020. Here a summary of what you need to know Activities permitted: Gyms are permitted to be open You are permitted to go to a playground Outdoor boot camps, personal training and group physical recreation activities are permitted. There is no limit or cap on numbers in attendance but the 1 person per 4 square metres rule applies and 1.5m physical distancing is strongly encouraged Swimming is permitted for fitness, rehabilitation purposes or elite athletes at swimming pools used by the public. You may play golf, or play tennis at a park, as recreational activities. The 1 person per 4 square metres rule applies, and the maximum number of players per group is 10 and 1.5m physical distancing is strongly encouraged. Classes or activities at gyms, health clubs, fitness centres, yoga, barre and spin facilities and dance and pilates studios are permitted The maximum people permitted in your club rooms is 100. (Assuming density requirements can be met). The total number of persons on each table must not exceed 10. Food and beverages must be consumed whilst seated. There are no communal food or beverage service areas (such as buffets, salad bars or communal water/beverage dispensers) Indoor public meetings are permitted as long as density and social distancing requirements are met. Activities not permitted: Community sport (indoor/outdoor, contact/non-contact) is not permitted Sport at recreation centres is not permitted. Play cafes are not permitted to be open Trampoline centres or similar are not permitted to be open. All activities planned with a COVID Management Plan, scheduled before 1 December 2020, are suspended. 05.01.2022 As of 12:01am Tuesday 1 December 2020, the Emergency Management (Public Activities No 14) (COVID-19) Directions 2020 came into effect with a number of implicati...ons for the sport and recreation industry. A summary of these changes is listed below: DENSITY REQUIREMENTS 1 person per 4sqm for indoor sport and recreation activities. 1 person per 2sqm for outdoor sport and recreation activities. WHAT'S ALLOWED? Outdoor sport (including sports training) activities, fitness or recreation activities. Indoor sport (including sports training) activities and indoor fitness or recreational activities. Swimming or other activities at swimming pools used by the public, as long as the density requirement of 1 person per 4sqm is complied with, with up to 50 people in a swimming pool at any one time. Indoor public meetings (i.e. AGMs). On-site purchase and consumption of food and beverages is permitted at a place if: Food and beverages are only consumed by patrons at an indoor place while seated (snack or hand held food or alcoholic beverages can be consumed standing outdoors while attending sport, fitness or recreation activities). No communal food or beverage service areas. QR CODES FOR CONTACT TRACING All businesses or organisations with a COVID Safe Plan will be required to display a COVID SAfe Check-In QR Code, and also provide an alternate paper record sheet, for contact tracing records. Where there are multiple user groups at the one venue e.g. a recreation centre, it is the responsibility of the owner of the venue or the person with care, control and management of the venue to enable the contract tracing process to take place. COVID MARSHALS COVID Marshals are still required for all prescribed operations including sporting clubs, gyms and fitness centres and swimming pools used by the public. COVID MANAGEMENT PLANS COVID Management Plans are required for defined public activities where it is expected that more than 1000 people will be participating in the activity.
