23.01.2022 Continuing their review of different cultures each week, the children at Our Lady of the Annunciation decided to build their very own Big Ben from recycled materials!

22.01.2022 DID YOU KNOW? Each morning, the children sit down for their morning tea. While they are enjoying the snack and chat, the staff have a quick briefing about the plan for the day. We then ask the children to switch their listening ears on to hear the mornings important announcements. ... On excursion days, the children are grouped and assigned to one of our lovely educators (our oh so fashionable vests are a staple in the Star Club wardrobe). They patiently line up for the bus and off they go!

22.01.2022 The team got into the Crazy Hair Day spirit yesterday! Can you tell?

21.01.2022 The children at St Thomas More's have been soaking up the sunny afternoon's, playing together outside. Sometimes it's just the simple things that make us happy. We Spring!

17.01.2022 monloubed_art workshops are very popular at vacation care! This holidays theme was Australian Animals and the children were able to choose between a Koala or an Echidna.

16.01.2022 The school holidays are off to a great start. What a week we have planned! Today the children at Pagewood Public School have been finding the artist within, painting Australian wildlife with local artist monloubed_art. The children at St Mary St Joseph's packed their gear and headed over to Sir Joseph Banks Park to explore and enjoy some outdoor activities. #schoolholidays

16.01.2022 Each week at St Agnes' a riddle goes up on the board. The children love these brain teasers, encouraging them to think outside the box. Do you know the answer to this week's riddle?

15.01.2022 We love using left over boxes! At St Bernard's, the children decided they wanted to make a candy garden. Layering the boxes, they are in the process of making a cake tower that will then be decorated with 'lollies'.

14.01.2022 And will you succeed? Yes you will indeed! (98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed.) ~Dr Seuss

13.01.2022 The St Mary St Joseph children are encouraged to feel recognised and respected for who they are. These short affirmations can have a big impact.

12.01.2022 Supporting children's interests we had a quick Beyblade tournament last week. This is serious stuff!

12.01.2022 This term, the children at Our Lady of the Annunciation are focusing on a culture each week. Recognising China this week, these cup cake liners create a beautiful visual effect when making Chinese Dragons.

12.01.2022 Continuing our learning of traditions and celebrations around the world, last week the children at St Mary St Joseph celebrated Diwali, the Indian festival of lights, with a hand crafted wall display. What a great idea to use some old CD's, so shiny!

10.01.2022 We are so happy to have a couple of excursions for the children to enjoy this vacation care. Today some of the children visited La Perouse and Yarra Bay for a bush and coastal walk, learning about Aboriginal culture, food and Dreamtime stories.

10.01.2022 Love, love, love this! Some of our Pagewood Public School parents joined in on the fun during after school care. Check out the height on those jumps, very impressive! So great to see parents getting involved

10.01.2022 There is a lot of thought and work behind setting up for a vacation care day. Creating inviting spaces for play, games and relaxation, setting up communication boards and preparing for the day's featured experience are just a few items that need to be checked off. Due to Covid, parents and carers are missing out on seeing the magic that happens inside, but here is a little peek.

09.01.2022 The days can be busy and sometimes stressful and every now and then we just need to get away from the noise. Here is an example of an outdoor quiet space. It's nice to know that if you just want to relax or don't feel like talking, there is somewhere to go.

08.01.2022 Exploring themes for NAIDOC Week, the children at Pagewood Public School learnt about how Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples created art using resources from the land. The afternoon activity involved carving symbols into potatoes and using them as stamps to make their own artwork. This led to conversations around the colours of the flag and their meaning. I learnt about what these symbols mean today in class, I like that we are using potatoes to create stamps. It’s a little weird but very cool - Miss A.

06.01.2022 If you want to get your garden into tip top shape, now is the time to do it. The children have started their gardening project by pulling out all the weeds. Good job! We'll have to wait and see what they decide to plant

04.01.2022 Oh we just love this! Such a great idea and so easy to try at home. We aren't sure which is more fun, making it or playing it?

03.01.2022 It's National Skin Cancer Action Week! Australia has come along way in research and education over the decades (as well as advertising ) At Star Club, sunscreen is applied at before school care when they go outdoors to play or heading off to start the school day. During after school care, it is after our daily announcements and during vacation care, every 3 hours.

03.01.2022 Feedback is a two-way conversation and we love receiving it from the children and responding to it. We must never lose sight of a child's needs, ideas and choices and giving them opportunities to express them.

01.01.2022 Please take a quick 20 seconds to vote for our hero Richard Habelrih. He’s done so much to advocate for autism awareness and inclusion in the community... your support is much appreciated. Richard has visited the Star Club schools to promote Autism Awareness through this MATES puppet show.
