23.01.2022 I just sat on my own last Christmas and cried. Wendy Wendy told her story of how she lost her family and how much she misses them. Being alone at Christmas can be bring its own kind of lonely. Sadly, Wendy is not alone in her feelings of isolation and loss. So many elderly are living on their own with no family to care for them. Take a moment to think about what it would be like to literally having no one left who cares about you. The STAR Secret Santa gift aims to let ea...ch of these wonderful people know that someone cares about them and that they are not forgotten. 21.01.2022 STAR Community Services held its AGM on Saturday with a very new look. Adhering to COVID-19 restrictions, there were less than 10 people in the room, while others used zoom to hear and take part in the meeting. Social distancing was maintained and safety measures put in place. Varying lockdowns and social restrictions have given us all a feel of what it’s like to be isolated. While many of us only had to stay at home for a few months, there are many of us oldies who continually live in isolation and need your support. For a year that seems to have gone on forever, I can’t believe it is nearly Christmas again. Being alo...ne at Christmas brings its own kind of loneliness.
