25.01.2022 To our dear Starfishers, Due to the ongoing situation regarding COVID 19 we must press pause on Starfish club for a while. We will be closely monitoring the situation regarding concerts moving forward. This is a desperate time for the arts and everyone in the gig economy. In fact, all of us. If you do want to help then we recommend donating your ticket price or whatever you can to supportact.org.au who will be the front line of support for all musicians and crew during this... crisis. Audiences got to see her shine on that front in four Helpmann Award-winning show Barbara and the Camp Dogs. That startlingly good musical, co-written with Alana Valentine, allowed her vocal cords to let rip, playing the eponymous pub rock star with something important to say about this country’s great shame when it comes to our First Nations people. 16.01.2022 On Good Friday around 6pm, we lost our dear friend and fellow Starfish team member Mori DeSouza. You may or may not have known, but Mori had been sick for a long time. He didn't let many people know, He was very good at living. Unique and gentlemanly Mori. Indefatigable Mori. Mori of chicken and mushroom pie fame! Enthusiastic music lover Mori.... And the biggest believer in Starfish Club that ever there was. We remember, without his meeting with the directors of The Clovelly Bowling Club, we would never have made the plunge. He made signs, he always had change, he stood by the door and stamped hands with his enthusiastic and good humoured spirit. He was so proud of the Starfish Club. We loved him. Thank you dear friend.
