24.01.2022 COMMUNITY SPORT COVID-19 SAFETY PLAN UPDATES As a result of rising COVID-19 case numbers in NSW, NSW Health has revised the COVID-19 Safety Plan template for co...mmunity sporting competitions and full training activities. We are asking that all community sport organisations across NSW put plans in place to minimise community sport spectators where practical, to parents and carers only. Unfortunately this means wed prefer no aunties and uncles, grandparents or siblings crowding the sidelines if they dont need to be there. We are also asking these organisations to ensure processes are in place to exclude participants and spectators if they have visited Victoria in the past 14 days or any of the reported case locations on the NSW Health website. 24.01.2022 This is our gorgeous U8s team. Yesterday they had their 1st win of the season by 1 goal over Quakers Hill. Clare and I are so proud of how far they have come this season in the top division. We were without our super Star Jess who filled in for the 9s yesterday. They are an awesome little team and we love coaching them. Go Stars

23.01.2022 Dear All We wish to advise that as a result of the current public health order restrictions and limit of 500 people per activity for community sport that BCNA has made the decision to run a competition consisting of Net Set Go Comp 8s and 9s, Under 10s through to 17 and Under competition for Season 2020. There will be a Net Set Go Skills program between 10.40am and 11.40am.... Our Club (and a number of other clubs) fought hard to include our seniors in the competition and we are extremely disappointed that our 18s and over cannot play this year however the logistics of trying to accommodate seniors and juniors at International Peace Park given the current court set up prevented this from occurring in a sufficiently safe way. The plan for the competition will at least permit the attendance of a spectator per child playing and will mean that our kids can be accompanied to and from the court ensuring their safety. Naturally we will need to arrange for refunds of registration fees to those senior players who will be unable to play and we will communicate on this directly via email to those impacted upon receipt of further advice from BCNA and Netball NSW. If you want to use funds paid as a credit for next season this can also be arranged. For those players that were in senior teams that are still eligible to play you will have received a message regarding playing in the 17s and under age group and as we need to submit our new teams to BCNA tomorrow so you will need to respond as requested. Please note that once our teams are submitted tomorrow that BCNA will be grading the teams on Sunday and will then advise of the playing times. As we are limited to the number of teams that can play at each time-slot it may be the case that the usual time slot for an age group may be slightly different as we expect to be playing from 8am until 4.45pm on a Saturday instead of between 9am and 4.45pm. There will be larger breaks between games to allow changeover between games with the 500 participants. I am sure everyone appreciates that we are in extraordinary times and everyone is doing their best to bring netball back. The executive committee of Starlights appreciate your patience and understanding during this time of upheaval and we will pass on any information we can as soon as it available. Although I am personally gutted that our senior teams cannot be accommodated this year I hope that you will all come back to the club for season 2021 as you are an integral part of our Club and Starlights family. 18.01.2022 This season has presented us with many challenges and today we had the opportunity to host a make-up competition game for our 12-3s against OLQP which is a first for both our Clubs and we thank BCNA Netball for facilitating this game at our local courts. Its proof that we are moving as one to meet the challenges of this season and that its great to be part of an association that is looking after our members and our interests this season and beyond... 18.01.2022 Tomorrow is game day for our Net Set Go Skills, Net Set Go Competition and Juniors 10-17s at Blacktown Netball Complex at International Peace Park Blacktown, Cnr Boyd and Devitt Streets, Blacktown. Make sure you check what time you or your daughter is playing! Net Set Go Skills is between 10.40am and 11.40am.... REMINDER Please enter and exit the complex at the designated places of access and egress. Please DO NOT arrive more than 15 mins prior to game time. Please be patient and ensure you know the rules Arrive/Play/Leave. There is a limit of one spectator per player. You cannot be onsite without pre approval. Please be respectful of our guidelines and our volunteers. If you are attending with your daughter to play make sure you give your name to the manager of her team as we must record your attendance. BYO own drink bottle. No sharing of snacks. There will be a canteen, however best to bring your own drinks and snacks regardless. Use the hand sanitizer provided. Managers please ensure your team complies with our guidelines on attendance as provided by BCNA and Starlights. Apply physical distancing at all times. Please ensure your fingernails are cut, you are wearing no jewellery including earrings and your hair is tied back for play. Please note that earrings cannot be taped, no exceptions. 05.01.2022 Thanks to Blacktown City Netball Association Inc for running the 2020 Spring Night Competition. We had a fabulous time and enjoyed the competition very much. We enjoyed it so much, we are looking for other clubs to enter Master's Teams in the 2021 competition. Looking forward to seeing other "experienced" players at Blacktown. 01.01.2022 The season that was 2020 is officially over! Whilst it was a challenging one - we did it! We got to play, coach and umpire the game we love! Thanks to all of our wonderful volunteers, coaches, managers and umpires! Congratulations to Deb Pooleys Under 16 Div 2 in coming runners up in their Division for 2020 losing only on goal average due to a forfeit. We also fostered a new level of cooperation and drive amongst our clubs and our Association which we can continue to build... on for 2021 and beyond! We are stronger together! It was also the first time we have run a Covid safe presentation, celebrating the achievements of all our teams after each time slot with their awards for this season. I would like to thank our wonderful committee for all of the effort they have put in this season in getting our teams on court, umpires, duties covered and especially for putting our presentation together today! Its a massive effort and many hours are spent behind the scenes. Thanks to our senior players who assisted with umpiring and coaching our teams despite your season not being able to go ahead. Thanks to Carol Aitken, Deb Pooley, Edwina Burge, Nat Lette, Nat Werch, Leah Smith and Louise Frendo (for continuing to help us out) for your efforts week in week out - you are all stars!
