25.01.2022 After many hours of work, our farming scene diorama nears completion! Heather and Rachel, assisted by Gerrard, lay the gravel that will simulate the ground of this historical Australian farming scene. Also in the diorama is a ute, a tractor, a windmill, several animals, and a fence.

25.01.2022 St Arnaud Neighbourhood House has been working with Coates Hostel for many months during 2020, undertaking a Life Story Book Project for several of their residents. The project aims to honour the life and valuable contributions of our elderly residents, by providing a professionally-printed hardcover book containing a biography of the resident’s life and many of their photographs from throughout the years. 16.01.2022 The St Arnaud Men Shed and the St Arnaud Neighbourhood House have been making Christmas decorations for the community. The Northern Grampians Shire has placed them within the two roundabouts in town.

13.01.2022 Kidsafe Victoria and Neighbourhood Houses Victoria invited St Arnaud Neighbourhood House to participate in the Safe Seats, Safe Kids program on Friday, partnering with the Northern Grampians Shire to provide free child car restraint fittings and safety checks.

11.01.2022 With the re-introduction of lockdown restrictions, we are again calling for book and reading material donations for our Street Library at 34 Alma Street! If you have books that you no longer want, consider donating them to our Street Library so that others can enjoy them. Individual books can be placed into the Street Library itself, if there is room, or, if you have several books to donate, please drop them into the Neighbourhood House during working hours, or leave them near the main entrance. Please remember that the Street Library is a service for all ages and avoid placing inappropriate material inside.

07.01.2022 Western Victoria will benefit from the $1.25m literacy, numeracy and digital skills funding boost for our Learn Locals. Rural and regional Learn Locals will ea...ch receive a $5,000 grant to invest in infrastructure to support more online learning. Such as at Cloverdale Community Centre in Corio, which I had the pleasure of visiting this morning with John Eren MP and seeing the life changing work that they do. Learn Locals in our region are opening doors for so many Victorians. I know this funding will go a long way to supporting more learners to gain new skills for work and everyday life.
