25.01.2022 St Arnaud Pony Club is seeking new members. As with all clubs, our membership numbers have fluctuated over the years but sadly as the 2019/2020 PC year draws to a close the club is struggling for members. We currently have riding members ranging in age from 3yo to 21yo, and with all abilities. ... St Arnaud PC is set in the bush and has wonderful grounds with a fenced area for show jumping, a large sand mnage, and a small sand fenced mnage. The current committee has obtained a grant to install new horse yards which are currently in the process of been built. The executive committee of the Midland Zone is united in supporting the St Arnaud Pony Club to enable the club to reach its full potential. If you would like to get involved or know of someone in the St Arnaud area who would benefit from joining our wonderful community please contact [email protected] or Sue Foley [email protected] Please do not hesitate in coming to a come and try day at our next rally. We hope to see you soon!

17.01.2022 That’s it for 2020! What a year it’s been we didn’t get many pictures today, as we were too busy holding on to our hats. (Please post any that you have below!) Our December rally always seems to throw us a curve ball Today we had 3 lovely young ladies gain their E and D certificates. We also had several smaller riders kicking goals by riding independently and taking that next big step. To all our riders, members, supporters, families and friends, have a safe and h...appy Christmas. We hope that 2021 brings you good health, success and many happy horsey moments. St Arnaud Pony CLub executive committee sincerely thanks all who have supported our little club. Even in a really rocky year, we have achieved so much. Developments are happening, improvements are being made to grounds. Funding has allowed us to set some plans in place for 2021. We have a welcoming and inclusive club with many new members. The future is bright merry christmas! See more

17.01.2022 St Arnaud Pony Club would like to thank Stawell Farm Supplies for their generous sponsorship and continued support of our club.

17.01.2022 http://bit.ly/3oarG5yGood Morning - I was hoping Midland Zone members would have a spare 5 mins to complete this survey being run by CSU into horse emotions.*************...Do horses have emotions? Are they the same as human emotions? Are their emotions important for understanding their behaviour or how to train them? Would you like to help us find out more about what horsey people know about emotions in horses? There is an increasing interest in understanding the sorts of emotions that animals experience, particularly because this tells us something about their welfare. However, it’s not clear if we all agree on what emotions animals experience or how they express them, whether positive ones such as feeling happy, or negative ones like feeling sad. The Horse Trust which is funding this project and a team of researchers are interested in understanding people’s views on what kinds of emotions horses might experience and what signs people use to identify or interpret horse emotions. We have developed a short, anonymous survey to find out more about what horsey people know and believe about horse emotions. The information you provide in this survey could help improve our understanding of how horse emotions affect the humanhorse relationship, which may lead to better welfare outcomes for horses. If you are over 18 years of age and would like to participate in this study by completing this short survey, please click on the link.

Special mention to Luke Batters, Reuben and Baxter Cheesman, Alister Kirk, Tyson Johns, Angus and Dougal Anderson for the many hours spent building them. 06.01.2022 The St Arnaud Pony Club committee have come to the decision to POSTPONE our Topsy Show on the 29th of March. While this event should not exceed the crowd of 500 attendees we feel that we must put the health & safety of our members, families, community, competitors and judges first. We also feel that our limited supply of water and hand washing resources at the club along with access to toilet paper and hand soap also contribute to the decision. Thank you for your understan...ding. St Arnaud PC.

06.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who attended our Allan Mitchell clinic this weekend. And to our members and visitors for joining in at our November rally. We had a terrific group of people pass through our gates over the last couple of days. It’s so good to be able to get out and about again!

05.01.2022 Hi Everyone, We will still be holding our next Rally on the 15th November. However, Charlton PC sent us this invitation. Could anyone interested in attending please let us know or contact Charlton PC on the numbers provide to book in. Thank you. Hello St Arnaud This is short notice but the Charlton Cross-Country course is looking really good at the moment so we have decided to invite our fellow Section B clubs to come and ride it on Sunday November 15. There will be a chance... to ride a dressage test, be instructed on XC then ride it and to ride a small show jumping course. Tony Blanchard will coach XC, a dressage judge is still to be sorted ( suggestions welcome, Rosemary Harris can’t as she is instructing at Donald that day, Donald are consequently unable to come either) The dressage tests will be the same as the Zone Horse trials Clinton our DC might not be around that day so has left it to the committee to arrange. If you are interested, please get back to me or Alena Olive our secretary as soon as possible. (Me being an old fogey who is not on Facebook : home phone 54935205 mobile 0459 522 900 ok for texts but not enough signal for a call) Again, apologise for short notice but it is really just a casual day to give anyone who wants to ride the XC while it is still competition ready. Regards Joan Smith President Charlton Pony Club
