We custom designed the vanity unit with integrated basins. This was fabricated by our friends SCF Interiors and the cool material is a solid surface from Staron. We added some timber look alike finishes in melamine to compliment the mirrored cabinets. 18.01.2022 Staron Solid Surfaces: 8 years later. Created 8 years ago, we take a look back at this iconic kitchen space to see how Staron Solid Surfaces has performed over the years. The owners of this home have taken their own photos of their family kitchen space and we compare it to the original professional photography taken when it was first completed. When it was initially built, capturing the view of the valley, surrounding bush and natural light were the main priorities for the ow...ners. Located in a rural hamlet that is still well connected to Brisbane city, the clients wanted a functional space for everyday family living, while having the sophistication to be the entertainer's kitchen on weekends. With this in mind, designer - Kim Duffin created a design to bring the outside in. Bifold doors open all the way to join the kitchen to the inviting alfresco space. The Staron benchtop continues monolithically to the splashback and up to create an integrated window ledge under a fixed window. This ensures that the stunning views are maximised beyond the kitchen space into the outdoors and creates a feeling of being surrounded by nature. Staron Solid Surfaces in colour Quasar White is also clad on all the cabinetry fronts. Staron in Aspen Glacier extends to the benchtops, splashback and continues outside to the table, integrated sink and BBQ area. Over the years, the Staron has maintained its aesthetic beauty. The non-porous nature has offered easy living with simple maintenance. The inconspicuous joins remain unseen with continuous monolithic surfaces from the cabinetry fronts, benchtops, sink and splashbacks. Using Staron outside has made entertaining and everyday living easy, and the owners have been able to enjoy the beautiful view outdoors in the warmth of the Queensland weather. Due to durable performance of Staron even in UV light, it has endured the environmental elements. The Staron Solid Surface in this home still looks as beautiful as the day it was installed. The longevity of Staron also means that after many more years of use it can be buffed to be rejuvenated and restored back to its original beauty. 11.01.2022 The brief for this project was to create a functional and fun home that is full of life. A full facelift and extension of the 1940's home was required. The owner is an outgoing mother of three young children who wanted the design to reflect her personality and suit her busy family lifestyle. Zavie Creative was engaged to design the layout of the home including the joinery design, and selecting the fixtures, finishes, furniture and decorative lighting. When the search for the ...benchtop, splashback and sink materials arose, consideration was given to the family's lifestyle requirements and Staron Solid Surfaces was selected. Staron offers a hardwearing, durable surface that is suitable for a busy family home with easy maintenance. The material is aesthetically beautiful and offers the performance benefits of a premium solid surface. Staron is hygienic, repairable, resists stains and has a monolithic nature. The joining properties of Staron eliminates any dirt-trapping crevices with no open joins so the surface starts at the splashback, continues to the benchtop and flows into the sink in one continuous surface. In this home, the surface has also been extended to the butler's pantry benchtop, splashback and sink, laundry benchtop and splashback as well as the alfresco kitchen benchtop. ... The neutral warmth of the benchtop colour complements the V-groove cabinetry that brings character and texture to the design. The timber floors add another element of warmth with the contemporary feature lighting over the kitchen island bringing a modern touch. The continuation of materials in the different spaces creates a feeling of unity and cohesion throughout the home. The end result is a functional family home that is warm, inviting and oozes personality. 06.01.2022 Congratulations to Minosa who been awarded a number of KBDi Designer Awards at the 2020 edition. Amongst the awards includes the major KBDi Australian Certified Designer of the Year awarded to Darren Genner This stunning kitchen space located in Canberra, also earned Simona Castagna, the KBDi Australian Kitchen Designer of the Year. Set in Canberra's Garden City of Turner, a well established suburb of the ACT, surrounded by expansive gardens, old gum trees and large-scale all...otments, this family home was set to turn heads. It was grand, expansive and equally impressive on the inside. The client's objectives were clear. Design a luxury kitchen with luxury appliances that catered to the growing needs of their family and lifestyle. It had to ooze elegance and class; and scream look at me. When it came time to select a benchtop and splashback surface, Staron Solid Surfaces was chosen. Staron provided long clean and monolithic surfaces with no open joins, a minimalistic look and feel and offered simple maintenance as the owners love to cook. Due to the joining capabilities of Staron, the surface starts at the kitchen benchtop, moves vertically up the splashback and extends into the scullery surfaces in one continuous surface and no open joins, eliminating dirt trapping crevices. The homes strongest architectural features are its long linear design, open plan and large expansive windows. The designer focused on these features to create a kitchen that sat harmoniously within, connecting dining, family room and outdoors entertaining. The style allowed for dual access in and around the kitchen. Active and passive zones ensure ample preparation space between appliances, and the functional flow for each is uninterrupted. The modern material palette is refined and ties in effortlessly with the surrounding interior scheme. The timber adds warmth to the Staron Solid Surface benchtop effortless upkeep. Black trims such as handles and canopies add a modern touch, complimenting the window frames and interior trims. The kitchen successfully integrates with the architecture, and the occupant needs and requirements of the space are met. 05.01.2022 In such unsure times, Darran Elliott from ProSolid - a solid-surface manufacturer in Dandenong, Victoria was inspired to create a symbol of hope and spread community love. An idea came to him through one of his neighbours 'lighting up' his Christmas lights that had not been taken down, with the purpose of spreading cheer during social isolation. With this inspiration, the beginnings of the #PUTYOURHEARTOUT community initiative was born. Darran designed a huge heart shape made... with Staron Solid Surfaces, which he lit up and hung from his balcony to send a message of community love and positivity. An outpouring of requests from people 'wanting their own heart' to hang started to reach Darran. He saw this as an opportunity to do something positive for the community during these times of financial hardship and uncertainty. He partnered with The Red Shield Appeal and decided to create hearts for people for a donation. The funds raised will to go towards The Well's Red Shield Appeal project to renovate the community kitchen. This project will provide valuable cooking and learning skills for those who need it in the St Kilda community. Austaron Surfaces donated the Staron Solid Surface used to create the hearts, and The Salvation Army staff worked with Darran at his factory to create the hearts. The hearts were created with thermoformed Staron Solid Surfaces and stand at 1.2 metres tall. The result is a beautiful vision of love hearts displayed on homes and businesses through the wider community spreading cheer, positivity and hope for the future. 03.01.2022 Located in Ukraine, this home belongs to a young family keen on fashion, music, and contemporary art. The apartment takes a two-level space of 100 m at a new residential complex. The design criteria for main bathroom was to create a dramatic bathroom space that impressed guests. With this in mind, Ater.architects envisioned bright colours and interesting patterns. The walls were created from brightly coloured concrete blocks and an art-like polygonal mirror placed on the wal...l next to a 'cheeky dancing monkey' resin lamp. A stunning wall mounted vanity was designed and when the designer searched for a material to create it with, Staron Solid Surfaces provided a unique colour with Mosaic Dalmatian. The design and performance benefits of Staron also allowed for no open joins, a non-porous nature perfect for wet area and mould resistance. The overall design is a vibrant and creative bathroom space that performs well in the environment it is in, while also meeting the aesthetic desires of the client.
