22.01.2022 How do we get 10 big and bulky 800kg frames out onto the hill side? The telehandler was up for the job. Yes we got bogged in the field and had to get the tractor to pull it out. However, after one lift on the return journey we got stuck agin but it started to tip over slowly - so much so that Nathan who was walking besides me immediately ran over to me and tried to push the telehandler back over (in futility). I told him to back away as I did not want it to fall on him and crush him. Shot up a quick prayer and lowered the boom - it fell back on all 4 wheels - DISASTER OVERTED. God must have sent a swift angel to our aid.

19.01.2022 The frames are in the ground and concreted in, before any more rain could fill the holes in the ground up. Galvanised beams still rust being 10km from the beach. So how are we going to protect the galvanised beams from rusting?

18.01.2022 Getting close to the end now with both tents. I have almost made all of the furniture. These bed rails are made from recycled railway sleepers and the the bed head is a big thick slab of redwood and the other one is iron bark. We also took delivery of our triple burn wood heaters from France. Guests will be able to rotate them to face any direction.

17.01.2022 We are transforming our shed into a guest lounge area or a common area for guests as part of our Starry Nights Luxe Camping experience. The guest lounge area has an ensuite, wood burning fire box, kitchen, and These are the before and after photos. I had Caleb my son drilling and bolting in the rafters. We helped a local farmer dismantle his shed and we were able to use his corrogated old iron for our ceiling. I used some old fence pailings to make these lights - can you see the bird on them that flew into our shed.

13.01.2022 We have broken ground at our property which is to be the Sunshine Coast's newest Luxury Camping property. We have dug 30 holes for the footings with some needing to be 3m deep. Unfortunately, after a decent rain event we had some flooding of the holes and because there is so much clay in our soils the water would not drain away and we had to bucket it out. Caleb was very helpful and we noticed that each hole would collapse and get a little bigger each time (like digging a hole at the beach). After 3 rain events and the holes filling up 3 times we decided to get all of the holes re drilled again. A good lesson for next time.

12.01.2022 Our baths just arrived. Still have the landscaping to do which is hard in this drought. Working hard on the interior and still have a lot of the fine details to go. We also have electricity to one of our tents. Plumbing should be done in the next week. We are almost ready to have guests stay.We are going to have a trial period that we call "Guests as Guinea Pigs". We will have a discounted rate and guests come and give us feed back about what they liked and what we can do better.

08.01.2022 2 giant 45 000 L water tanks (3 1/2 m tall and 5 m round). Just when they were getting delivered the morning of thier delivery the council decided to redo the road so it got stuck and jack knifed. We ended up pulling it up the hill with our excavator.

07.01.2022 We have the water proof membrane rooves on now and our timber arrived for the floors. We are using big old recycled barn floor boards. They have so many knots and tunnels through them that we used some resin to fill all of the holes. The resin is clear so you can still see the charactier of the timber. We are using a bees wax oil to cover them - it's all natural here.

07.01.2022 Dad's has come onboard and has been giving us a hand now the last couple of months for 3 days every week. With dad doing the landscaping, planting and other infrastructure it frees me up more to spend building the tents. Here is one on the many shipments of steel we have taken. We bought a welder and cold cut saw which we love and are smashing these frames out. The shed floor almost can not be seen in parts due to all of the steel we have been cutting.

03.01.2022 Frames are painted, and it is time for the roof insulation. Took out the bob cat to start making a road to get to the tents.

02.01.2022 We need your advice friends... I just made these coffee tables and we just wanted our friends opinion on whether we should have exposed legs like you can see in the photos or whether the legs should be under the table more so you do not see them as much? What do you think? It seem triffle but we need your opinions. Other photos above show a working bee we had with a few friends lending a hand to help us bulding the tents and installing an emergency exit with a drain. Making a luggage rack in another photo.
