23.01.2022 Celebrating NAIDOC Week with pride, our Dripstone Stars spent the day at the stunning Litchfield National Park near Darwin. Our Stars enjoying swimming in the beautiful, clear water, followed by a group discussion about the history and importance of NAIDOC. Our Stars had created a banner recognising this year’s theme ‘Always Was, Always Will Be’ and were very excited to show it off. They received lots of lovely comments from tourists and visitors to the park. 20.01.2022 Year 9 Sanderson Stars who consistently displayed the Stars values Respect, Honesty, Commitment, Pride had a high school attendance rate, and consistently engaged with Stars, were treated to an end-of-year overnight camp. The two days were filled with a range of exciting and relaxing activities, including ice skating, bowling, laser tag, a sunset dinner cruise, manicures, and lunch by the seaside. A lovely way to finish a long and very difficult year. Good luck in senior school next year, you Stars! #starsfoundation #thefutureisinourStars #Aboriginal #Indigenous #TorresStraitIslander #FirstNations #girlseducation #empoweringgirls #youth #future #womenempowerment #culture #deadly
20.01.2022 98 per cent of our senior Stars completed Year 12 this year! An amazing outcome, especially when you consider the national Year 12 completion rate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is around 65 per cent (Census 2016). We are so proud of these young women, who have shown extraordinary resilience, dedication and commitment, despite all of the uncertainty and upheaval of a global pandemic. You can read more on this story and many others in our December enewsletter.
