14.01.2022 Hello Coffs Friends - HELP NEEDED At Cancer Council, we have the most amazing group of volunteers who drive patients to their treatment appointments. However, these volunteers are taking a break due to their higher risk of COVID 19. We are looking for fabulous volunteer drivers who live close to Coffs Harbour, to cover during this time. What it involves:... * Driving the Cancer Council car to the address of the patient, collect them and drop them at the treatment centre - Coffs Harbour Base Hospital - then wait/return home (depending on appointment length) and go back and collect patient and drop them home again. * Most trips are in and around Coffs Harbour, but some are further afield - e.g. Nambucca Heads, Woolgoolga, Bellingen You: * Must have a drivers licence! * Be under the age of 60 years * Be prepared to volunteer one day per week/fortnight (depending on bookings) - weekdays only * Be sensitive, caring and able to converse with cancer patients * Follow all COVID 19 hygiene guidelines * Undergo a short training course Most importantly, be prepared to give back, help people in their time of need and join the team at Australia's largest cancer charity. Thanks for considering this. This volunteer placement is just for the period of the COVID 19 risk. Please private message or call me if you are interested and I will put you in touch with the team to go through all the details. Please share. Take care everyone!

07.01.2022 Hello to our amazing Stars of Coffs Coast Dance for Cancer supporters. You may have heard by now that we have made the difficult decision that it will not be viable to hold Stars of Coffs Coast Dance for Cancer this year. We are saddened that there will be no physical event this year. We sincerely hope you will continue fundraising for Cancer Council during this challenging time and that you will get involved in the event next year. Any donations that you have raised so far ...will still go towards supporting cancer patients in need. There are still many other ways to fundraise and show your support of cancer patients at this time, including: Do It For Cancer, Pink and The Longest Day. Visit https://www.cancercouncil.com.au/get-involved/fundraising/ for more information. We thank you in advance for your understanding and continued support as together we strive for a cancer free future. See more
