20.01.2022 Last Sunday one of the bible readings was Psalm 23. This psalm is probably the best known of all the psalms and has given comfort to generations. Now more than ever it feels appropriate to listen to these words and meditate on how God will provide and care for us. As we do not know what is to come, it is good to know that God is with us through it all.... Take a moment to open a bible and read Psalm 23, or watch the YouTube video with the link below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qD_BehgFJk

19.01.2022 Today we heard the parable of the master and the servants being given talents (coins). At Star Street we have been providing emergency relief to those in need for over 30 years to our local community. Some of our volunteers reflected in today’s service on how simple gifts of tinned food, cereal, tea and coffee can help those in need. ... We have been given gifts that we can translate to talents for the kingdom of Christ. Can you share your talents to help others?

18.01.2022 Today is the start of National Volunteer week. The theme this year is Changing communities. Changing lives. It’s a great similarity to Star Streets own Mission statement being Transforming Lives, Transforming our community. We give thanks for the wonderful volunteers in our church community who serve in worship, emergency food relief, pastoral care, morning teas, op shop, fellowship and leadership roles.... Our Star Street community and our wider community benefit from the kind efforts of those who volunteer and bring wonderful change for the better for so many. Thank you volunteers!

18.01.2022 Churches around the world are joining together to pray The Lord’s Prayer. The Uniting Church in WA will be praying at 7pm this evening. Please pray with us this sacred prayer at 7pm:... Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your Kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. 14.01.2022 We have a new logo! Here is a breakdown of the elements of the logo. The Cross... Central to the Star Street Logo, a reminder to live Christ like every day. The Star Represents our location on Star Street in Carlisle. It also reminds us of the Star of Bethlehem, which marked the way to meet Jesus. The People As we step out we see that there are people of many colours surrounding the cross forming a Star. These are the people of Star Street Uniting Church, just like the diverse colours of the rainbow, we are diverse in age, culture, ethnic background, gender and sexuality. You will see this logo popping up a lot more around Star Street in the next few months!

06.01.2022 Today we tried something new for Star Street Uniting Church by doing a Zoom worship. We had 30 logon profiles via telephone and the internet, resulting in at least 43 participants (plus pets) attending worship today. A number of us lit candles in our home to celebrate our togetherness, even though we are physically distant at this point. ... William spoke to us about how these are confusing times, but we as a Christian people always live with hope of what is to come. We have a tomorrow to look forward to, thanks to Jesus Christ.

04.01.2022 Star Street is mandatory contact register ready! Effective today, the State government requires all places of worship to register all attendees. We are ready for you by providing a QR code on entry for those who have the SafeWA app and also running a paper register for those unable to use the app.... Please if you are able, come to church a little bit earlier so we can process all attendees. Please also have some patience as we iron out how to do this additional process smoothly. In other news, the State Government has also confirmed that we can now have 60% capacity of our worship centre, meaning we can have 60 persons in the church worship space with overflow into the hall. We look forward to you joining us at Star Street!

04.01.2022 The food cupboards at Star St Uniting Church are full of non perishable food! If you know anyone in need of food at this time, send them around to collect a food parcel. 02.01.2022 Closure of the Op Shop Following the suspension of the Op Shop due to COVID-19 at the start of the year, it has been decided that the shop will not reopen. All current stock has been donated to Good Sammy’s.... Thank you to all the faithful volunteers over the years, and the generous donations from the community. But this closure gives us an opportunity to imagine what will come next in our Hub space. What do you want to see the Hub being used for?

01.01.2022 Today we worshiped on site and also on zoom. With people in our local neighbourhood, Victoria and Thailand, this shared blessing recorded earlier this year felt an appropriate way to bless all, wherever they are. https://youtu.be/TascsWZPj8U
