NMFC - W.Mouchaileh 2, C.Dimitropoulos, L.Kfelatii & N.Warrington Next up saw two more sides who suffered opening round defeats go head to head with Kensington Eagles taking on North Melbourne. The Mystics were defending extremely well and did not look like conceding as they struck once again through Chris Dimitropoulos to all but seal the win, before a late goal to Mouchaileh sealed the three points as the Mystics ended their year with three points. Man of the match - Nick Tzoutidis (North Melbourne FC)

19.01.2022 State League Championship, Round 1, 2020/21 Hume Futsal Club 1-5 FC Footscray (Futsal Club) HUME - A.Ayad ... FOOT - Y.Barberoglou 3, Meh Chowdhury & Min Chowdhury The final game of an action packed round one saw Hume take on Footscray who have been promoted to the Championship for the first time in their history. Footscray looked the more determined of the two sides as they struck twice more through Barberoglou and Mehraz Chowdhury for a 4-1 lead. A red card to Hume scorer Ayad left a sour taste in Hume mouthes, with Barberoglou completing his hat trick and a dominant 5-1 win on match day one. MEL - N.Ormond 4, B.Grillo 4, E.Evans & J.Kelsall The final match day of a rather odd year kicked off with Brunswick taking on Melbourne Athletic as both sides looked to bounce back from defeats on the opening weekend. Melbourne Athletic raced out of the blocks, taking advantage of Brunswick not having a recognised shot stopper between the sticks as they piled on seven first half goals to two, with Nic Ormond leading the way netting four times, while a brace from Ben Grillo further extended the lead to all but have the game over by the break. Brunswick despite trailing by five did not give up as they clawed their way back into the contest on the back of a hat trick from Najee Khalil to worry the Athletic players a little. A further two second half goals to Grillo would bring his tally up to four for the game as Athletic held on in a high scoring affair to get their first points of the season, while Brunswick can see positives should they be able to start games off quicker, the results will not take long to flow for the fire. Man of the match - Nic Ormond (FC Melbourne Athletic)
