24.01.2022 So I promised some pictures of my recent work quite a while ago now! This work is a little different to my State of Eden aesthetic. It is me experimenting with different concepts now that I have my own studio and can spread my wings a little bit. I have a number of flowers, seed pods and leaves drying in my studio and I am documenting some of them as they dry. I love the form and shape of this Anthurium through all it’s stages of life. I have added a few pics of the d...rying process. This flower is still in my studio (8 months of drying). I think it just gets more beautiful as it contracts and breaks down. This piece has been created with paints I have made from different types of Australian clay and overlaid with pencil. The artwork has a dry textured feel that evokes the Anthurium’s final stages as a flower. The piece is - #1. The original of this work is available in my studio and I will be offering very limited edition prints also (ranging from A2 to A0 in size). It is a largish artwork, approximately A1 in size (84cm x 60cm). If you are interested in knowing more please direct message me. Stay safe and well xx. #melbourneartist #flowerlifecycle #returningtoearth #hiddenbeauty #anthurium #naturalpaints #everlasting #australianart @ Melbourne, Victoria, Australia See more

23.01.2022 I am very lucky to have a dear friend who has set up life drawing sessions for her close friends in her lounge room each month. I love the comfort of a small group and we always have great conversations while we draw . Here are some 5 minute and 20 minute sketches from one of our recent sessions. If you would love to learn how to draw the human face and figure I have a Faces & Figures drawing course starting next Thursday (20th) in my studio in Albert Park. The class size... is small and the program is tailored to beginners but would also suit intermediate drawers. The course is 4 or 5 weeks long - 4 weeks is $75 and 5 weeks is $110. The fifth class will involve a live model and is a tutored session. This is a good option of those who are interested in life drawing but not feeling confident to start untutored classes (as most of them are). All materials and paper are provided. If you are keen, more information and the link to book is in my events page Feel free to message me with any questions too. See more

13.01.2022 A little more of my original artwork. These pieces are approx A4 in size and explore the period post the prime of life. Each ‘design’ is issued in 5 original editions, emphasising the hidden beauty and the individuality of experience during this declining stage. The process starts with a print made with natural homemade paints (created using Australian clays) and a foam cutout of the design. The print outcome is very different each time which influences the approach I... take to finishing the piece. Different mediums, techniques and colours are used on each of the 5 editions. Each piece connected but also individual and beautiful. I am hoping to add a gallery to my website of all my original art in the next few months but for now will post here as I finish artworks. Of course you are welcome to view in my studio as the lockdown relaxes! I will also have new prints being added shortly. Look forward to sharing the process on those too. 08.01.2022 I have recently being inspired by the lifecycle of our natural world - in particular flora. I have posted a before picture and a several months later picture of the same flowers. Although absolutely glorious in the first picture, I love how the flowers have dried out and stiffened and become even more structural in the second. Resilient and comfortable in the skin they're in. I also love the parallels I can draw between the flowers and myself as I age, haha. I have several pieces that I am working on (and some that I have finished) inspired by this exploration. I am looking forward to sharing photos of this work you in the coming days!

06.01.2022 The Faces and Figures drawing course starts tonight! Registration closes at 7.30pm. Come and learn to draw in my comfortable and inspiring studio.

05.01.2022 The countdown is on! Two days until my first Faces and Figures drawing course begins and I am excited!! Can’t wait to share skills and tips on portrait drawing and capturing the human form - including the dreaded foreshortening of limbs (it’s really not too hard to grasp I promise). If you are interested in coming along the link to bookings is on my event page (plus a lot more detailed info). You will be given reference material of all the skills you have been taught s...o you can continue to practise at home. All materials and paper are provided.
