20.01.2022 A curling wave rich with texture and patterning created using a mixture of heavy body and light liquid acrylics. The tension these different weights creates causes the paint to crackle and rip in places, which is all part of the 3D texture I aim to create. The soft colours would compliment any colour scheme and room. When using heavy acrylics, I stretch the canvas over a cradled hardboard, which is the perfect substrate for this liquid artwork. 01.01.2022 Clinker is a method were the planks are attached so that the bottom edge of a plank is placed over the previous one. It creates a type of stepped side to the boat. It is a distinctive shape, and each plank is fastened to vertical ribs inside of the boat. When I was growing up in a small fishing village on NSW north Coast, all the boats were built from timber. it was only later that Fiberglass and aluminium became less expensive and popular.
