17.01.2022 Always Was, Always Will Be. State Theatre Company South Australia celebrates the NAIDOC Week theme and recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people were Australia’s first artists. State Theatre Company South Australia works and practices on the lands of the Kaurna people, the traditional custodians of the Adelaide Plains. We recognise and respect their cultural heritage, ...beliefs and relationship with the land. We acknowledge that they are of continuing importance to the Kaurna people living today and pay respects to Elders past, present and future. Best wishes to all our First Nations colleagues and theatre community for a great NAIDOC Week 2020. 04.01.2022 Last night would have been the official opening night of our season of Ripcord by David Lindsay-Abaire. Our amazingly talented cast, creatives and crew have worked so hard to produce this heartwarming and hilarious play and we were so excited to share it with you! We're disappointed to say the least, but the health and safety of our audiences and team come first, so we're glad to be taking this pause and giving our government the time and space to get this situation under control quickly. We’re still hoping that we can continue with the Ripcord season, but in the meantime we want to say a huge thank you to our ticket holders and theatre community for your kindness, love and patience as we navigate through this uncertain time. We'll see you on the other side!
