24.01.2022 Day 2 rescue training at Station 513 Getting a ring stuck on your finger is never a fun thing but if it’s going to happen it may as well be when there is rescue training on at the station for that exact thing. Ring removals can be a bit tricky depending on the type of material the ring is made of. Nice job Stephen Corbett The boys also spent some of the day learning different rescue and patient protection techniques as well as using air and hydraulic tools. #MoreThanFire #PreparedforAnything #ProtectTheIrreplaceable Fire and Rescue NSW Fire + Rescue NSW Regional South 2

Today we celebra...te the dedicated men and women who work each day to protect you, the irreplaceable. Whether it’s rescuing you from a car crash, providing emergency medical care to your loved one or humanitarian relief to your community - our firefighters do so much more than fight fire. We are #PreparedForAnything. Today, we also remember all firefighters who have lost their lives while serving others. 08.01.2022 Absolutely heartbreaking news out of Victoria overnight. We grieve with every member of Victoria Police and every member of the wider emergency services family.

07.01.2022 Today marks the beginning of Men’s Health Week, a week that focuses on the health impacts of men’s environments. Our people are our most important asset and the...ir mental and physical wellbeing is crucial to ensuring we are prepared for anything. This year Men’s Health Week highlights the importance of taking the time to have regular check-ups with a general practitioner and regular check-ins with your loved ones. Some of the work Fire and Rescue NSW is doing to support our people in this area includes the recruitment of Wellbeing Officers to support the roll out of mental health programs and enhancing our personal protective equipment to reduce our firefighters exposure to carcinogens. Tips from www.menshealthweek.org.au to manage your health: Be active in getting medical help if you don't feel well, have a problem that won't go away or notice unusual symptoms. It's OK to seek help - don't try to do everything on your own or bury problems. Talk to your partner, friends and workmates. Push hard to get the help you need to manage your life, work, family and financial needs. Partners - be proactive in helping your men and boys get the help they and you need. Use available hotlines, speak with professionals to get the best course of action and be persistent. Don't leave it too late to seek help. For more information visit: https://www.menshealthweek.org.au/
