24.01.2022 Thanks to our amazing community for their donations to Rosies - Friends On The Street We’ve missed being able to volunteer our evenings to spend time with patrons this year so it was great to be able to give back in this way



23.01.2022 Congratulations to Khloe Watts in Year 1 who was very excited to be a winner of Milton Dick MP's Oxley Christmas Card Competition! Over 1000 students entered, including many from St Augustine's College & Khloe's art was chosen to feature on the card delivered to mailboxes across the electorate. She was so happy to receive her personalised bauble & certificate - thank you Milton!

22.01.2022 Congratulations & well done to Year 7 student Isabela Hoyos Yanez for her selection in to the 2021 Under 13s Squad, as part of the Queensland Academy of Sport Women's Football Program! This comes after a gruelling trial process since August & has taken immense skill at an elite level. We commend her for this significant achievement

22.01.2022 Unable to perform live, our Year 12 students filmed their legacy performance to share during the Year 12 Graduation Ceremony. Well done to all involved - a beautiful & moving piece, with dance choreographed by Cultural Captain Tahlia Pardede.



20.01.2022 Congratulations & well done to our graduating Class of 2020! We are immensely proud of this cohort for their strength, persistence & maturity, uniting as student leaders during what has been a challenging year. We wish you all the success for the future. Special congratulations to all Graduation Award winners & whilst we couldn't have our usual Farewell Assembly, we loved seeing the smiles, laughter & tears as our Year 12s walked through a Guard of Honour made up of our Prep-Year 11 students. Read at the library as part of Children's Book Council of Australia Book Week, our Preps loved it so much they asked for an encore. 15.01.2022 Year 3-6 girls who will be Under 12 in 2021 are invited to come & try Futsal with taster sessions during Wednesday lunch time breaks at Eli’s. This is a chance to try something new - we will be introducing new players to the game & starting to form teams for inter-school competition next year so come along & don’t forget your trainers! 2021 age groups catered for will be Under 10, Under 11 and Under 12. 15.01.2022 Today we celebrated & farewelled our Year 10 & 11 students during a Senior Years Liturgy & Awards Ceremony. 14.01.2022 Last week our Year 6 cohort enjoyed a visit to Queensland Parliament house, Old Government House Brisbane & QUT The Cube. Students left inspired by the interactive technologies & gained first-hand knowledge of democracy & law-making. Such a great way to round up their Civics & Citizenship unit



14.01.2022 Last term over two days we filmed a video showing off our amazing campus & community at St Augustine's College, starring our staff & students Do you recognise anyone? We hope you love it as much as we do!

13.01.2022 Last week our Middle Year students enjoyed outdoor education with excursions that included paddleboarding & swimming at the beach, kokoda trail walks at Mt Cootha, a lifesaving course at the pools & a trip to the Brisbane CBD. We were disappointed to not be able to go on our usual camps but we're so excited for 2021 & the possibilities it brings!

13.01.2022 Food & Fibre students enjoyed making pita bread last week in the Middle Years kitchen. In addition to cooking skills, students have been learning about Australian agriculture to better appreciate how their food makes it from the paddock to their plate. Great work

12.01.2022 There were some creative dress-up days today for our Year 4 & Year 2 students, with a gold coin donation to fundraise for the Vinnies Australia Christmas AppealIn Year 4 they dressed as elves, using recycled materials to create toys, and in Year 2 they dressed as "You Can Do It" characters. 11.01.2022 This term our Year 10 Visual Art students have been creating Australian landscape narratives using clay. It has been great to see these ideas come to life & we look forward to sharing their final works soon!

10.01.2022 To encourage recycling, Middle Years students were challenged to make a one minute video on ways to better care for our environment. Well done to all entrants with very creative & informative videos. 05.01.2022 Year 3 & 4 students enjoyed an interactive drumming incursion thanks to the Salaka Ensemble, a visiting group from Ghana. Students loved getting to try the African Drums, learning about the culture as part of their Music Unit. Such a fantastic way to learn - thank you for visiting us African Beat!
