25.01.2022 Congratulations Mr Barrett on receiving his Spirit of Catholic Education Award. Well deserved recognition for a wonderful act of kindness.

24.01.2022 Tomorrow we will commence Parent / Teacher Interviews that were delayed from Semester 1 due to COVID-19 restrictions. We thank all families for their patience, support and understanding the delay during this difficult time. This Wednesday and Thursday (29 30 July) our Year 1, 2 and 6 classes will have their interviews. Prep, Years 3, 4 and 5 will have their interviews next Wednesday and Thursday (5 6 August). All bookings for interviews are made through PTO which can be a...ccessed via the Parent Portal and the St Augustine’s website. Bookings can be made up until 9.00am on the day of the interview, if any parents are having issues with making a booking please contact the office for support. To assist with maintaining a safe environment for all participants we have implemented the following protocols for the interviews. All interviews will take place in the hall with all tables sufficiently separated to enable social distancing. Parents/Caregivers are to arrive no earlier than 10 minutes prior to your time slot. Entry will be from the Western (Prep) end of the hall and the exit will be via the Eastern (OSHC) end. When waiting outside we request all attendees maintain social distancing, there will be additional waiting areas outside the Year 2 classroom. We request that everyone sanitise hands at the sanitising station when entering hall. Teachers will sanitise tables and chairs between each interview. If you need to bring your children, they must always stay with you as there will be no supervision provided. If you are unwell, please let your child’s teacher know and we will reschedule. If you have any questions, please contact a member of the leadership team.

20.01.2022 Virtual Concert Act 8 - The days have been getting hotter and soon it will be Christmas in Australia. It seems only fitting that we end our Virtual Concert with Year 4 presenting Aussie Jingle Bells. It's a scorcher!! From all the staff and students at St A's, we say thank you to everyone who has tuned into our Virtual Concert. We had a lot of fun making these videos and we hope it brought some Christmas cheer to our school community. Merry Christmas!!

19.01.2022 *Important Information for parents about the Friday FUNday, 27th November* Please note that the invitation for parents to attend the welcome day is extended to parents/primary carers only. Please understand that we are unable to welcome extended family or siblings as a condition of the Risk Assessment Documentation and Government/BCE Guidelines. As a P&F event, the Committee are responsible and will incur significant consequences if these conditions are breached. We have limited volunteers available on the day to host the Covid Restrictions Sign-in/Sanitisation tables, so we would appreciate the help of all parents/primary carers attending to be aware of the requirements and assist in ensuring they are met. Participation on the inflatables is STRICTLY restricted to current students (and designated teachers).

18.01.2022 Annual Legacy Project Fundraiser & Friday FUNday. The annual fundraiser is nearly at the second tier of $5,000 but we continue to strive for the ultimate $10,000 target (or at least the third tier goal of $8,000 to give our students the biggest and best inflatable fun day on Friday 27th November). Donate at:https://gf.me/u/yzzupt... The $10,000 target is achievable if every St A's family donated $20 and the P&F are certainly grateful for every donation already received, however, we'd like to take this opportunity to highlight and thank the St A's family businesses who have contributed so generously. The following companies are all listed on our St A's Business & Service Directory, and we encourage all our families and friends to support our school community and shop local! The Salt Mill, Currumbin (if it's good enough for Zac Efron....) Wendy's House, Family Day Care Currumbin Vet Surgery The Branded Merchandise Co. Lisa Rafferty Graphic Design Special thanks also to Mark Minichiello from MiniFit who has donated his time to lead the full day of FUNday activities for our students!

18.01.2022 Tuckshop will be open tomorrow, Friday 4 Dec for morning tea and students will also be able to buy ice blocks.

17.01.2022 We hope all families had a restful break over the past two weeks and all students were eager to return to school. Over the holiday period there were further easing of restrictions in Queensland, however schools will continue to operate under the same conditions that we were under at the completion of Term 2. We continue to remain hopeful that Queensland will continue to keep COVID-19 infection rates low so that restrictions will continue to ease. In the meantime, it is important that we all adhere to social distancing and hygiene requirements. When the school is informed of any changes to restrictions, the information will be immediately passed on to families.

11.01.2022 As another school year comes to a close, we would like to take this opportunity to wish you and yours all of the very best for the summer. May it be a safe, healthy and happy one and whatever your holiday plans are, may they be most enjoyable!

08.01.2022 Recycling Postponed at St A’s In the past, we have collected clean, washed plastic milk bottle and soft drink lids, bread tags and aluminum ring pulls. But, at the moment, with COVID-19 restrictions, we are unable to send them to the recycling collection depots. So, we have suspended the collection of all recyclables for the time being at school. By all means, keep collecting the recyclables at home, but do not send them to school please. We will let you know when we start collecting again. A reminder to wash all milk bottle lids.

08.01.2022 Again congratulations Mr Barrett! In the true spirit of St Mary of the Cross Mackillop, Paul and his Year 2 students saw a need and responded in a heartfelt and purposeful way.
