18.01.2022 Thousands of loved ones are still with us because a brave bystander stepped in. Our friends at Ambulance Victoria have launched ‘Shocktober’ and asking all Vic...torians to learn CPR and find their nearest AED. This is especially important in small communities throughout the Wimmera/Mallee. We need you to take 1 minute and see how important CPR is and knowing where your closest AED is located. 16.01.2022 Due to the nature of COVID-19, in recent times we’d taken a break from face-to-face skills maintenance and training to focus only on responding to emergencies. From this week, you might see us back out undertaking training in small groups to ensure we have the essential skills and capability required to respond to an emergency. Emergency services as a permitted industry are able to conduct critical training and exercising under the directions, as endorsed by the Victorian Chi...ef Health Officer. Our crews are following all the COVIDSafe principles, wearing masks and working hard to ensure we are there for our community. Stawell Times-News ABC Wimmera Wimmera Mail-Times

07.01.2022 What a Paw-some way to start out the weekend. Last night our volunteers were called out to rescue a cat that was trapped inside a wall. After a bit of work locating the kitten and a bit more work gaining access to rescue it the kitten was handed over to the homeowner. As always a selfie was required.... 04.01.2022 Today our members have been out and about clearing trees from Landsborough to Halls Gap. As most people know when approaching or passing a slow moving or stationary emergency vehicle you must slow or be slowing to 40km/h. Unfortunately today not only did people ignore that rule they put our members at risk by passing our vehicles on the wrong side of the road while we were at jobs. ... If our vehicle is parked in the lane of traffic we have put it there for a reason. Please stay in your lane until our members call for you to pass. It’s a very simple thing to do that will keep everyone safe. Stawell Times-News ABC Wimmera Victoria State Emergency Service Horsham Times
