19.01.2022 Just over 3 weeks ago we made the very hard decision to postpone the first ever Kiama Songwriters Retreat The retreat was scheduled to start at 8.30 tomorrow morning and go for two days....in addition to postponing the retreat we also had to postpone the song writers concert to be held at the Joyce Wheatley centre, showcasing the four tutors putting on a concert for what would have been tomorrow night.The fabulous four- our beautiful friends Lyn BowtellBowtell Anthony Sn...ape, Kevin Bennett & The Flood and Melody Moko -are some of the countries best musicians, singers and writers.....who have built a lovely connection with Kiama . Later this year -once this horrible virus has passed- we WILL guarantee to our live music loving local friends and the business community of Kiama that we will bring the tutors, the students and their friends to Kiama just like we planned to happen this weekend!!! We will book motel rooms, people for dinner for two nights in Kiama, we will have our group eating lunches at Kiama’s cafes and eateries, buying from Kiama’s shops and experiencing the best that Kiama has to offer.... I guess my point in this post is to confirm that while plans change in uncertain time....things can and will go on..we have to do what it takes for this absolute disaster to pass and then we all shall regroup, replan and rebuild. We will be doing what ever we can to help get the local economy back on its feet again and to bring these fabulous four to our lovely area again.
