25.01.2022 FAMILY TRAVEL GOALS Now that things have started opening up, we can start to think about travel again! Emma from Small footprints big adventures has been travelling long-term with her family. She recently shared her sustainable travel story with us - thanks Emma! I’ve often said that choosing to travel sustainably is choosing to travel with love; we try our best to leave only a positive impact, and seek to connect with people in a real way. We were already living in a fa...irly mindful manner. Extending this to travelling meant packing minimally and travelling slowly. I think we’ve shown that ethical and eco-friendly travelling as a family is possible and enjoyable. There are so many wonderful businesses and small local initiatives who are doing their best to make a difference, not just a profit, and it’s great for us to support their work. Finding a responsible provider isn’t hard: just checking their websites is usually enough. If they have genuine policies, then they’re a great choice. But if they have a token word or two like ‘green’ or ‘eco’ with nothing substantial to back it up, it’s likely they’re not sustainable. For small businesses who don’t have websites, supporting local people is the way to go. 25.01.2022 As massive supporters of the Bendigo Blues & Roots Music Festival we are so pleased to see they are bringing live in-person, pre-recorded and live streamed music from Festival favourites. Whether in Bendigo, somewhere else in lockddown or other there are options for everyone to enjoy and support live music. 20.01.2022 We love this idea - "... rather than luring thousands of spectators to the race this year, crowds will be dispersed across Bendigo’s pubs, venues and laneways in a bid by Bendigo Cup organisers to create a festival-like atmosphere amid the limitations of the pandemic."

20.01.2022 Tune in today at 3pm for a chat with us and Liberty Tours about all things Central Victoria and why you should make this your next trip...

18.01.2022 Whether you are travelling or not right now, make a conscious effort to support and buy local fresh produce. Around Bendigo and region, the produce is amazing and much healthier than all that food people are scrambling to get at their local supermarket!!

18.01.2022 BENDIGO SUSTAINABLE HOUSE DAY THIS SUNDAY 25th OCTOBER These are some of the fabulous people you can meet and talk to on Bendigo Sustainable House day (including @staysocialaccom Chris Corr!). When you have your ticket, links to videos are provided so you can watch the videos today and then ask all the questions in the zooms on Sunday. Grab your coffee and sit back and join in, ask our experts what you can do to be more sustainable and find out how to share resources of la...nd by living in a more community or family way. Talk to Jenny at Light House architecture and science about the award winning developments they have been involved with. Hear about finding cool or hot spots with the BSG thermal camera and heaps of hints on how to retrofit your home. Want to design your own home, hear about this process too and how much thought goes into it. So Much to learn and just enjoy visiting the houses. https://www.eventbrite.com.au/myevent?eid=119838254445

07.01.2022 There is no better time than right now to really think about our impact as human beings and how we can consciously make an effort to minimise this impact. That’s why over the next few months we’ll be sharing tips and stories about conscious travel, so that when we are ready to travel again we can do so with a lighter footprint If you have a story to share about this, get in touch as we’d love to spread the word and help inspire others to do the same ... #ConsciousTravel #SustainableTourism

06.01.2022 We know we can’t travel right now, but we can research the places we want to visit and learn about their fascinating cultural heritage. For example, did you know that Bendigo has a long history of Chinese tradition and is home to both the oldest and the longest imperial dragons in the world? You can visit them at the Golden Dragon Museum when it’s open again! #CulturalHeritage #Traditions #Dragons
