22.01.2022 During Term 4, a team of Year 6 students will be reporting on all the exciting activities and events that are happening in our school. This week two Year 6 students, Ada Durazza and Abbey Bacon, have reported on what’s happening in Kinder Red. This week, Abbey and Ada went to Kinder to visit their new baby chickens. Kinder is currently learning about the Chicken’s lifestyle, how to look after them and how they survive for their Science unit (Living Detectives Staying Alive). They will have them for two weeks, then they will go up for adoption. Students will have the option to adopt the chickens at the end of their stay. The Chicken’s arrived on Monday with three already hatched and eleven unhatched. The oldest chicken was born on the 18th of October. We hope that Kinder has a fun and exciting time learning about the Chickens.

01.01.2022 Today 3 Black turned their theory into practical. For the last 2 weeks they have been learning how to write procedures and today they wrote out a procedure for a ‘cake in a cup’. The children really enjoyed putting their measuring skills to the test when they created and cooked their cakes. There were full tummies and empty cups at the end.

01.01.2022 This week, Year 6 students Drew and Thomas reported on some important training that Year 4 and 5 participated in: This week, Year 4 and 5 both participated in buddy training to prepare for their Kindergarten buddies. They learnt skills on how to work together and how to be a good buddy. They did teambuilding games and Year 4 and 5 were able to mix together as a group. They did a full day of training and working together so they could be the best buddies they could possibly be.... Both classes said the teambuilding games they did were really fun and they got to learn a lot about how to work together as a group. They also discussed roles and expectations of how to be a good role model. We got some Year 4’s opinions on how they think they could be a good role model to the new and upcoming Kindy’s. This is what they said: To be a good role model you have to set a good example for the new Kindy’s so they understand what you are allowed to do at St. Benedict’s and what you’re not allowed to do. The Year 4 and 5’s said they are super excited to see their Kindergarten buddies again in a couple of weeks for their orientation.
