18.01.2022 What a fun day! Our Colour Run was a great success, supporting Levi Gibsons mission to climb Mt Kilimanjaro and raise funds for our school to install a Solar Photovoltaic (PV) System and in doing so become virtually electricity independent! A huge thank you to Ms Harris in designing the obstacle course and working with Claude Spinelli to ensure that we were challenged, yet having the best fun ever!!!! We exceeded our target goal and raised $7,565! An extraordinary effort, well done everyone!

12.01.2022 HOLY WEEK ONLINE WITH BISHOP BRIAN MASCORD As the Lenten season of sacrifice and self-denial approaches its conclusion, we now prepare for the most sacred ...time of the year for us as Catholic Christians, Holy Week. During this time, we commemorate and remember the last week of Jesus life on this earthfrom his institution of the Eucharist on Holy Thursday, to his suffering and death on the cross on Good Friday, to his glorious resurrection on Easter Sunday! You are invited to walk this journey online with Bishop Brian Mascord as we livestream the following Masses and liturgies: 7pm AEST | Holy Thursday (9 April)Mass of the Lords Supper 10am AEST | Good Friday (10 April)Stations of the Cross 3pm AEST | Good Friday (10 April)Commemoration of the Lords Passion 7pm AEST | Holy Saturday (11 April)Mass of the Easter Vigil You can watch here on our Facebook page, or on our YouTube Channel dow.sh/YouTube, or website www.dow.org.au. As we endure together the new world order that we currently find ourselves in, engaging wholeheartedly in the Easter Triduum has the power to change us forever. Holy Week is an intense immersion in the fundamental mystery of what it is to be Christian. During these days, we suffer with Christ so that we might rise with him at his glorious resurrection. This is indeed a graced moment for us and the worldGod is calling us to clear our schedules of unnecessary activities and fix our minds and hearts on Jesus and what he did for us. Let us bear the cross so that may be worthy of wearing the crown he wore. We look forward to you coming home for Holy Week with Bishop Brian. PAX CHRISTI #HolyWeek2020 #ForAllThingsGiveThanks

01.01.2022 COVID-19 | UPDATED PASTORAL STATEMENT AND PARISH DIRECTIVES (25/03/2020) Bishop Brian Mascord has released new directives for parishes as a result of the cha...nging Government protocols dealing with COVID-19. https://www.dow.org.au/covid-19 From the statement: "The changes surrounding the sacramental life of our Church are evolving daily as a result of COVID-19. Following further directives from the Prime Minister last night, the following increased sacramental restrictions will apply from midnight tonight 25 March 2020. These directives will likely change again shortly following further advice from the National Cabinet. - Weddings can continue to be held with a maximum of five (5) people in attendance. The five people consist of the celebrant, bride, groom and two witnesses. Under no circumstances can this limit be exceeded. - Funerals can continue to be held with no more than ten (10) people in attendance including the celebrant. Under no circumstances can this limit be exceeded. - Baptisms should be delayed. If there is a risk of death, the child should be baptised with not more than six (6) people in attendance which includes the parents, two godparents, the celebrant and the child being baptised. - The Sacrament of Confession will be suspended during this time of pandemic. Physical and moral impossibility excuses a person from confession, in which case reconciliation may be attained by other means, for example an act of perfect contrition. (Canon 960) An act of perfect contrition can be made by saying these or similar words: My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. I should love you above all things. I firmly intend, with your help, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin. **** We have created a page on our website dedicated to the latest guidance from the diocese outlining its role in preventing the spread of the virus in our communities. The diocese will always act in accordance with the guidelines of health authorities and update its advice as necessary. https://www.dow.org.au/covid-19
