23.01.2022 KINDY FISH FEELINGS After reading Pout Pout Fish written by Deborah Diesen, our wonderful Kindergarten students spoke about what made them feel a certain emotion. They created an artwork that depicted themselves as the Pout Pout fish.
23.01.2022 BOOK WEEK DRESS UP DAY This year we will be holding our Book Week Dress Up Day on the 28th of October. The theme is Curious Creatures, Wild Minds. We will be having a parade on the day to celebrate, however, unfortunately due to the COVID restrictions parents will be unable to attend. We are looking forward to seeing your creative costumes!
23.01.2022 NAIDOC WEEK As part of our special NAIDOC celebrations this week, the staff and students were lucky enough to welcome Ellen Thomas (Collard) to be our guest speaker and share with us her journey and story as a Noongar Balardung Yorga, who was from the stolen generation. We hope the students left with Ellen’s message of kindness and respect for each other and that we are all one, in this journey together. Throughout the week, each class participated in a variety of NAIDOC activities such as cooking damper, learning Dreamtime stories and using traditional techniques to create artwork. On Friday the students enjoyed a kangaroo sausage sizzle to conclude our wonderful week.

21.01.2022 GREEN SCREEN FUN Our Year One students have been busy experimenting with our new Green Screen. The students worked together to create a 'water' themed photo using their ICT knowledge and skills.
21.01.2022 YEAR FOUR INVESTIGATION This week the Year Four students have been learning to read graduated scales. They conducted an enjoyable and fun investigation in the sunshine. Each student collected water in their choice of implement and then used their knowledge of graduated scales to read a measurement.

19.01.2022 YEAR THREE RECONCILIATION RETREAT On Monday, our Year Three students enjoyed a fantastic day with Karl Brown learning a lot about Reconciliation. They got to play a variety of games and build stronger relationships as they prepare for their Reconciliation next week.
18.01.2022 LIFE ON LAND Our Year One students have been busy planning and creating bird homes for the animal life on our land. They realised that the bird life within our school community required some improvements with a focus on sustainability.

16.01.2022 3D SHAPES IN OUR ENVIRONMENT In Year One the students are learning about 3D shapes and objects. Last Friday, the Year One children were placed into groups and went on a 3D object hunt around the school. Then they used the photos to create a poster using the Pic Collage App. We are so proud of their creations.
16.01.2022 LIFE UNDER THE SEA On Friday our Pre Primary students visited AQWA to gain an up close and hands on experience of life under the sea. For the last two terms of school, each class has been closely investigating our oceanic life. It is safe to say the children were ecstatic to see many of the creatures they have been learning about.
16.01.2022 EDMUND RICE SPORTS PROGRAM The Edmund Rice Centre WA will be holding their free sports program on Tuesdays from June 23rd. Each session will be from 4:00pm to 6:00pm and focus on soccer and AFL at Grimrey Oval, Lockridge. Children aged 5 upwards are encouraged to attend.
16.01.2022 HYMN SINGING Our students have been participating in Hymn Singing within their classes over the last few weeks. They have enjoyed singing along with their peers and teachers. A big thank you to our Music specialist teacher Mrs Yeo, for making this possible.

15.01.2022 YEAR SIX CAMP Our Year Six students have enjoyed the last two nights at Nanga Bush Camp. They were engaged in a variety of different team building activities such as rock climbing, raft building and abseiling. We hear that they had an absolute blast!

09.01.2022 SWIMMING CARNIVAL On Friday we celebrated our school swimming carnival at Bayswater Waves. It was a fun day had by all. Congratulations to all of those involved and to Mercy Blue for their win.
08.01.2022 YEAR SIX Design Technologies - Lets Go Fly a Kite. For the last five weeks our Year Six students have been researching and analysing a variety of different kites. Today they constructed their own kites out of recyclable material. Next week, the students will be test flying their kites and making modifications to their design.
07.01.2022 STAFF PRAYER Our staff gather for Prayer every Wednesday morning. At this time, this happens through Microsoft Teams, with staff joining from their own classroom or workspace. We continue to come together, just in a different way.
07.01.2022 ANGELICO ART EXHIBITION Congratulations to the students whose art was chosen and displayed for the Angelico Art Exhibition.
07.01.2022 WRITING FOR A PURPOSE During their persuasive writing unit, the Year Five students wrote letters to Mr Shaw to convince him to let the school have a fundraiser for our parish due to recover money lost due to the closures in March and April. Mr Shaw was very impressed and is also a big fan of crazy socks. He agreed for the Year Five students to organise the day.

05.01.2022 FRACTION GAMES Our Year Two students have been learning about fractions. They were very excited to be playing some interactive games.
03.01.2022 The Pre Primary students have been exploring litter and how it causes damage to our environment and animals. They devised a plan on how they could reduce litter at St Brigid's and decided to make posters to display around the school. The students used an app called "Draw and Tell" to create their posters.

02.01.2022 STEM FUN Today our Year Four students participated in a STEM incursion facilitated by E2 Young Engineers Australia. The students engaged in a variety of different activities that promoted exploration, collaboration and creativity. They had a fantastic time designing and testing their own robots.
02.01.2022 YEAR ONE LEARNING Our Year One students have been having a lot of fun with their learning over the last week. They have been creating, investigating and learning through a number of hands on activities.
