21.01.2022 Yesterday, was R U Okay? Day. Our students engaged in different activities to build a understanding of the importance of mental health. Today, at assembly, students and staff wore yellow to show further support for the initiative. Jackson Taylor MP joined our assembly to check in with our community. The wellbeing of our students is viewed as integral to learning excellence and life success. Wellbeing continues underpins everything we do (especially during remote learning) and is enacted through our schools vision, policies and programs. St Bernadette’s implements the prep to six program, Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships. This program was designed to develop students social, emotional and relationship skills.

18.01.2022 Spring is around the corner The school oval is a key feature of our school yard, used daily by students for dozens of different games, but also host to schools events like the twilight picnic, colour run and cross country Check out our virtual school tour: https://poly.google.com/view/7QXa8dLqr6p Contact our principal for an online meeting today for 2021 enrolments- [email protected]

17.01.2022 St Bernadette’s is committed to developing innovative, effective and engaging for student learning. This year we introduced 'Teachers As Co-learners', approach that encourages students, teachers, staff and the school community to learn the Mandarin language together. All classes will have two shorter sessions of Mandarin per week with Xiaoying (Chen lo sh) teaching students and the classroom teachers as co-learners. The teachers then continue with practising and teaching s...hort sharp lessons of Mandarin throughout the week, incorporating the functional words and phrases they co-learnt. As we all progress, we are able to use more and more conversational language throughout the day, such as saying good morning, asking to go to the toilet and other everyday classroom language. Check out our teacher's brushing up their skills (prior to lockdown).
