24.01.2022 We have loved having the 3/4/5 students and teachers back at school this week! It has been great to see their smiling faces, as they reconnect with their friends and teachers. . . Today they became scientists and participated in a range of hands on activities where they hypothesised what would happen next! Check out their whacky experiments!



23.01.2022 Yesterday our community had a HILARIOUS HAIRSTYLE day. Thank you to all the families that joined us for assembly with their hilarious hairstyles and to those that sent through photos. Have a look at the hilarious hairstyles students came up with.

Thank you to our families who walked past school on Friday to collect their kindness cups. Packs can still be collected tomorrow morning from the office if you havent yet collected your pack. 23.01.2022 What a wonderful Wednesday the Preps had with another visit from a community group. Thanks to Shane for coming to speak to us about fire safety and what we should do in an emergency.

21.01.2022 During home learning Miss Tara set our school some fantastic tasks. One of these was Couch Choir. St Catherine students were asked to record themselves singing the song Everybody. We hope you enjoy our second instalment of Couch Choir. Great work Miss Tara!

19.01.2022 Our whole school enjoyed our pebble jar award today, by having a pyjama and movie day!



19.01.2022 We have loved seeing everyone embrace our Wacky Wednesday community activities. This week our theme was to dress in one colour. We have selected our prize winners for Wacky Wednesday and our junior winners are: The Perri family, Ava & Mia, & our senior winner is Devi Berends. They will both receive a $25 voucher to Sullies Cafe in Armstrong Creek. The prizes have been donated by a member of our school community.

19.01.2022 Teacher Update - Introducing Sarah Carland I am very excited to be joining the St Catherine of Siena learning community. I am a dedicated and enthusiastic educator, and have taught in Melbournes western suburbs for the past four years. Outside of school, I enjoy playing sports and participating in outdoor activities such as hiking and surfing, as well as spending time with friends and family. I am looking forward to meeting everyone and being a part of this growing community.

17.01.2022 The 3/4/5s turned into explorers today for their Term 3 Inquiry unit. They participated in a range of activities including, making totems, learning about the First Fleet, creating and learning about maps and making scones.

17.01.2022 Last week we celebrated 100 days at St Catherine of Siena as a whole school. We had lots of fun dressing up, completing fun activities and participating in the Amazing Race.

11.01.2022 Teacher Update - Introducing Sarah Gordon I feel very excited and privileged to be joining the St. Catherine of Siena community to help support and nurture our students in developing a love for learning. I am a passionate and energetic teacher who will bring innovation to my practice to ensure all students are engaged and excited about their learning. I am originally from country Victoria and have spent my last four years teaching here in Geelong with a year teaching overseas in London. In my free time I enjoy netball, running, catching up with friends/family and taking my sausage dog, George, to the beach. I cannot wait to continue my teaching journey in 2021 at St Catherine of Siena.

11.01.2022 The Warralily Christmas Spectacular has gone virtual this year and St Catherine of Siena has been asked to take part. We look forward to being on the stage next year but this year our spectacular Christmas video by our school choir will be showcased on the 11th December. 10.01.2022 ST CATHERINE OF SIENA VIRTUAL ART SHOW Despite a roller coaster year, there has still been much to celebrate in the Art Room with our students producing some wonderful work! Ideally, we would have loved an Art Show within the school however, this year the students are bringing their work to you. Our talented students have selected some of their favourite artworks from throughout the year and are proud to share them with you. A huge thank you to Mr Plapp for putting together the show and for all his creativity and hard work this year. We hope you enjoy our 2020 'Virtual' Art Show!!!

09.01.2022 We hope everyone is excited for the VIRTUAL DISCO tomorrow! We cannot wait to see you all online! Please check Seesaw or Google Classroom for your disco links. After our exciting announcement this morning, that we will be returning to school on Monday 5th October (HOORAY!!), we will be holding Children Check Ins tomorrow afternoon and Friday. 09.01.2022 August Birthday Announcement - Keep an eye out for a special delivery! Students who celebrated a birthday in August and were unable time participate in their high tea celebration with Mrs Bryce will have a special delivery tomorrow, Tuesday 1st September!!

07.01.2022 This term the Prep students have been learning about community. We were lucky enough to have some important people come visit us. We learnt about how Paramedics and Police Officers help everyone in our community!

07.01.2022 If you have some time over the weekend you should go and see the Little Malop Street Christmas trees, now on display in central Geelong. Some of our wonderful senior students planned and coordinated this amazing tree which involved around 130 students contributing each to a 'bauble'. If you are in Geelong, be sure to check out all the trees made by local schools, they look fantastic!

05.01.2022 Teacher Update - Introducing Tim Koenig I am already looking forward to day one of school in 2021. Excitement is high and I cant wait to join the community at St Catherine of Siena next year. Over the last two years I have taught around Geelong and kept myself busy writing a couple of childrens novels. In the classroom I want to share my love of learning new things with my students so that they feel encouraged to explore and make discoveries of their own. I aim to create a space where students develop empathy for others and a confidence in their own unique potential. Outside school my days are filled with painting landscapes, writing silly stories, bouldering, having fun at youth group and running around the bush with my boisterous dog, Goose.

05.01.2022 Yesterday we celebrated World Environment Day. Our Prep - 2 students ate lunch outdoors, explored our garden and spent the afternoon without technology. The senior students learning from home, went on an environment scavenger hunt around their neighbourhood. We are looking forward to seeing everyone back at school on Tuesday!

04.01.2022 The Prep students thoroughly enjoyed their Big Bang Inquiry day today. The day was an introduction to their new unit on Minibeasts. They loved dressing up and participating in a variety of immersion tasks, including searching for minibeasts in our schoolyard!

02.01.2022 This week is National eSmart Week. A great week to celebrate and promote positive online behaviours. Tomorrow there are live sessions being run for students to participate in. 02.01.2022 During our Remote Learning 2.0 we have added a range of optional activities to engage our St Catherine of Siena Learning Community. All information will be sent out this morning via SkoolBag with the information for the week ahead. Each week the theme for the days will stay the same but there will be a varying activity you may wish to complete with your family. 02.01.2022 Yesterday our school captains Jasper and Clare went to the new Coles Armstrong Creek Town Centre to mark the start of a new community partnership. St Catherine of Siena received a generous donation, that will be put towards acquiring an industrial oven for our Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation program. We are looking forward to a continued partnership with Coles.
