10.01.2022 During this difficult time of physical distancing and COVID 19, we at St Christopher’s would like to thank our Parish Council, Wardens and Rev’d Susan for their love and support. They work quietly and diligently to support this parish, this community, and because of that many do not see how hard they are working. In this post we’d like to highlight some of the ways that our Church leadership are here for the parish during this time: Virtual Sunday Services. ... Daily virtual Prayer meetings. These are held each morning by Rev’d Susan, Monday to Friday, to those looking for some human contact amongst the isolation. Help with the virtual. Many of our parishioners have never had to use video conferencing before. As such there are people within the Parish who have been taught how, so they can teach others. Good old-fashioned phone calls. Parish Council, Wardens and Rev’d Susan, have been calling parishioners to check in on them and see how they are doing in voluntary isolation. We have quite a few parish members, so while the phone calls are not daily for each person, our parish leaders are trying their best to get to everyone. The weekly pew sheet IS STILL RUNNING! This has the normal bits of news and humour, plus information about COVID 19 initiatives. If you would like information on any of the above, please contact our Parish Council or Wardens or Rev’d Susan, who are more than happy to keep us all connected. And during this time let us pray for peace, good health, understanding, and that we can show the capacity to be part of the solution, part of the care and part of the love. During times of stress we can find our demons, may the Lord give us strength to overcome them, so that we may be His light in the world. Is it, True? Is it, Helpful? Is it, Necessary? Is it, Kind?
