18.01.2022 10/2 - Grand Final Report Sponsored by Hanson Metal Roofing and Domino's Pizza Erskine Park (NSW) v Blacktown Workers... Loss 22-6 Saturday showed me how blessed I am to be part of the wonderful St Clair Comets JRLC. I got to watch my oldest boy Jai play alongside 13 of his best mates in his first Grand Final. I could bang on for hours about the whole team as they have come so far this short season and have really done me proud. To go from tears in the first round from being a bit scared of the new challenges they face, to going out each week after that and giving it to their opposition no matter what, I was proud. To top it all off they made the Grand Final and played amazing as a team. It was such a great feeling to be their coach and to have them all thank me for different reasons and hug me and want photos like I was the superstar and not them. I want them all to know that the love they showed me, the coaching staff and their teammates was amazing after a loss in a big game. Ok we didnt get the win , Jamie and his team from Blacktown Workers JRLC got the win 22-6 well done to them and thanks for a great game as always. Our boys lost the game on the scoreboard but we never lose we actually learn. We learnt that if we want something. we need to be hungrier than others who want the same thing. The amount of support from my players families, friends and others in the Comets community was again outstanding. I was personally commended by the ground manager on the behaviour of or team, staff and supporters and I thank you all for this. I said many speeches over the weekend and had many personal talks with players and their loved ones so not going to go into detail on each player here, Ill leave that for the final report. They played with heart and soul this season from beginning to end needs to be said again along with Im proud, I love you all and hope whatever the future brings is as bright as you all made my day Saturday. Saturday night was a blast thanks to Stephen Hanson from Hansons Metal Roofing. You are truly a gentleman and to put on a massive night like that for the team and their family was amazing. Everyone enjoyed the night I even had a few drinks . You would of thought the boys won the game, by the celebration and smiles but no it was a celebration of mateship and how far these young boys have come. Domino's Pizza Erskine Park thanks for the pizza day yesterday and for your continued support over the last 4 years. Comets Comets Comets Whos next!!
