25.01.2022 Week 10 was cooking week for St Damien's CPS. Students cooked Italian focaccia and home made fettuccine pasta with Signora Bava. This empowered students to investigate good eating habits that will equip children for a healthy future. Teaching students the basics of Italian cooking was a great way to broaden their knowledge of nutritious food in practical way. Students appreciated the concept of sustainable living, showing willingness to experiment with food and displayed an appetite for learning. Buon appetito da tutti noi!

19.01.2022 We Need Your Help! The Clubs Program at our school has been nominated for the Quality Catholic Education Awards and we need your votes to become the 'People's Choice' winner. All of the submissions listed are free for the public to vote on so every bit of exposure helps; so please feel free to share with your friends and family who might be able to show their support as well. Our submission has been titled 'We Started With Why' because everything we do at the school serv...es as the tangible proof of what we believe. The Clubs Program is simply a continuation of what we have always done in the pursuit of fulfilling our beliefs, because we want to live in a world where God’s creation is cherished and celebrated. It just so happens that the Clubs Program is full of learning opportunities as well! If you believe what we believe and want to tangibly prove it or you would like to support us just because you can then please visit the website link below and cast your vote. You may also vote once per email address! *hint hint* We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. https://awards.cewa.edu.au/nomination/we-started-with-why/ See more

18.01.2022 Rottnest Island Day #4 After a lovely Mass with Father Leon last night, our exhausted travellers headed back to camp for their last night. A very, very slow morning of packing and cleaning rooms, followed by some Morning Tea at the Beach. We’re on the ferry now and we are sure all parents eagerly await the return of the kids. They will not put up much resistance tonight....

15.01.2022 Italian Cooking

15.01.2022 In Week 3, the Green Team went on an excursion to explore the natural beauty of Dawesville. They travelled to each location via bicycle and consolidated their prior learning about road safety along the way. They visited Warrungup Reserve, Caddadup Reserve and Florida Beach. ;) To start the day, we cycled out to Warrungup to observe the crabs and other estuarine flora/fauna before having a snack to replenish our energy. At Caddadup we observed the flora while walking through the nature trail. In the middle of the day we returned to school to watch the 'Our Planet' documentary while gorging ourselves on party foods. To finish the day, we cycled out to Florida Beach for a swim and some laughs. All in all, it was good fun getting around to so many locations on our bikes!

14.01.2022 Rottnest Island Day #3 Another great day on the island - Mini Golf, Jet Boats and more beach time. Tonight we head off to Mass with St Damien’s Parish foundation Priest - Father Leon, which will be a treat for the kids. Lots of exhausted kids, but they’re sleeping very, very well!

14.01.2022 Good evening families. There has been an issue with the Class Placement Survey that was sent out today. Currently, the survey is only allowing one submission, so those families with multiple children are unable to submit for all. Mr Crebert will attempt to solve this issue from Rottnest, this evening. As always, we thank you for your continued flexibility and support.
