25.01.2022 Hi again Folks. Just confirming re the previous post on February 12. The test work will be occurring this weekend. In due course we will let you all know how it works out.

24.01.2022 Nice to see Australian companies investing in our mining industry. Many people complain about some of our most lucrative projects being foreign owned (and conse...quently most of the profits going offshore), but the reality has long been that few Australian investors have been prepared to stump up the significant amount of risk capital that is required to develop these assets. Hopefully that pendulum is starting to swing the other way. See more

24.01.2022 Ground penetrating radar work. As mentioned back in March, we said that we would let people know well in advance, when the next round of ground penetrating radar work occur. We will be conducting additional work later this month in the same location as most of the first round of work. (In the bush south of the Mount Egerton Transfer Station). ... The contractor has yet to confirm the exact timing, but a team of two people will be walking around in the bush for a few days towards the end of the month. They are friendly guys, so if you are in the area and see them at work,(walking around !), feel free to say hello. I am a little hard to contact at the moment as I'm in an area with almost no phone coverage, but I hope to be back home for the radar program... If anyone has any questions or concerns you can leave me a message or SMS my mobile, and I'll respond as soon as I get any message. (Terry, on 0419 340 767).

18.01.2022 Geophysics Trial Fieldwork Report: It Looks like the ground penetrating radar trial worked pretty well. It'll be at least a week or two before the fully processed data and the consultant's full interpretation report is provided to us, but at first glance some obvious geological structures showed up pretty well where some good drilling assays were recorded previously. :) We did about 2.9km's of walked lines in total over the last two days and much of it showed up nothing mu...ch of any interest. That's also is a quite useful result because it identifies places where there is very little point drilling exploration holes or doing any other more intrusive (noticeable) types of work in those places in the foreseeable future. We will most likely do some more of this type of work at a later date and if so we will let you all know well in advance beforehand. I expect that we will have to (probably mechanically) clean up a fair bit of the dense gorse and blackberry infestations in a few areas that look interesting, before any future program is conducted. That will make possible some closer spaced lines that will enable the consultants to get a better 3D picture. Thank you to all of those friendly people (walking their dogs etc.) who came across our guys while they were doing the work, and stopped to say hello and have a chat. :) As always, please don't hesitate to contact us directly if at anytime you have any questions or concerns. (Terry, on 0419 340 767).

17.01.2022 Many people who visit our page will be very interested in the shared article below... According to a quote in the article from Mr. Hennigh, president of Novo Resources Corp. There are certain gold camps that I see, where there are the telltale signs of there being a heck of a lot more, he said. There will be more discoveries without question. That statement can definitely be said of our Mount Egerton Project. The telltale signs here include numerous high-grade drilling re...sults. These are predominantly near-surface and many appear to be off-set from the main historically mined gold bearing structures. Historical records also indicate that at least one reef mined here historically was literally "hung together with gold". The gold-bearing system was also confirmed to be "continuing strongly to greater depth", when the last of the deep mining in the area abruptly ceased in the early 1900's following the "catastrophic failure" of that mines water pumping facilities. It appears that the revival of interest in Central Victoria's untapped gold deposits may very soon lead to many new discoveries that will contribute substantially towards keeping our national and regional economies strong.

13.01.2022 Just a historical note that some may find interesting: By Earth Resources | 8 Feb 2019 John Deason and Richard Oates are not household names but perhaps they should be as 150 years ago this month, they made a discovery that still makes news today. On 5 February 1869, the two miners discovered the largest gold nugget ever found, near Moliagul, 60 km west of Bendigo. Weighing around 66 kilograms, the Welcome Stranger nugget is world famous and a symbol of Victoria’s gold-...rush heritage. This month around 150 people gathered at the site where it is thought the nugget was found. Some dressed in Victorian era clothing, a few were direct descendants of the miners and those who helped get the nugget to the bank, but all were captivated by this rags to riches tale. Victoria’s wealth was built on gold and even by 1869 the Geological Survey of Victoria had been created to help those with gold fever navigate the geology of the state. "Modern geoscience actually tells us that there could be as much gold still in the ground as has been extracted over 170 years or so both by hand and commercial, modern mining," said Director of the Geological Survey of Victoria, Paul McDonald. "Gold mining in Victoria is on a real upturn with more gold being found deep underground using contemporary mining techniques and based on the latest geoscience data. Modern mineral explorers are tracing the steps of the pioneers as they had the basics right but not the added advantages we have today." "Minerals exploration and mining today employs thousands of people in regional Victoria, both directly and via contractors, services, motels and the like in different towns. If it wasn’t for the gold pioneers like John Deason and Richard Oates, Victoria would be very different." The Geological Survey of Victoria would like to thank the Goldfields Historical and Arts Society for organising the event this week. A special exhibition at the Dunolly Museum continues, celebrating the Welcome Stranger find at Moliagul. Post navigation

13.01.2022 Following up on the local weed issue. The following letter went out today: Dear DELWP officer, Mr. Daniel McMahon (Land & Built Environment | Grampians Region) suggested that I write expressing my concerns over a significant weed infestation on Crown Land. Daniel was supplied a plan showing the infested area by Mr. Lionel Woodford (Earth Resources Regulation). The plan title was "Gorse and brambles on Crown land Mount Egerton.pdf. Apparently the land parcel in question ...Continue reading

11.01.2022 This outstanding gentleman has been both a friend and an industry associate to me (Terry Delahunty) since the early 1990’s. His unquestionable sense of fairness, his sharp mind, and his practicality made him shine throughout his career. As this was the time that Noel and I initially had the most contact, I felt that he was particularly outstanding in his time as Victoria’s Mining Warden. More recently he has been managing our company’s tenement matters, the role from whic...h he’s now retiring. We at Steadfast Mining Services wish him the very best, and we are very pleased to hear that he is not planning on leaving the industry altogether. Thanks Noel ! See more

10.01.2022 Here is a link to a news article today about Victoria’s golden historical wealth generation, and it’s current resurgence. Revenue from a resurgence of Victorian gold mining will significantly contribute to paying for our States development of vital infrastructure, and will particularly boost economies in the towns and areas where it is produced. I hope many people find this link both worth reading and encouraging. (Terry Delahunty).

09.01.2022 Hello everyone, I received notification earlier today that the "Contact us" link was not working on our website. I have checked it out and sent a test message and found it to be working fine. If anyone is still having problems, please reply to this post or private message me, and I will try and sort it out.... Regards, Terry Delahunty.

07.01.2022 A further update on the weed issue: On Monday next (August 13), weather permitting, Steadfast Mining Services will be conducting some mechanical weed removal in the area at the south end of the transfer station. (Mainly gorse and also some blackberry). We will be in there with a skid-steer machine. (Local bloke Steve Conroy will be helping us). Hopefully it won't cause any inconvenience to anyone.... We will follow up that work later in the month with a couple more days of ground penetrating radar. We will let you know the dates for the two-man radar work as soon as the contractor confirms when they will be in the area. We were always quite happy to tackle the weed problem in our area of interest, albeit addressing only a small part of a much larger problem. However, earlier in the year we were advised to action this matter by making contact with officers from Land and built environment, Grampians Region about the weed infestation in both the area in question and generally across the whole district. I'm guessing that none of us are very happy about the regulatory response to tackling weed control in our area. However... it turns out that the budget allocated to the regulators for weed control is shockingly small and totally inadequate to service even a fraction of the area of their responsibility. So, basically it's not their fault. ! Perhaps some of us may be able to lobby our politicians to increase the budget for the control of this pervasive problem. - Over to you if you care sufficiently about this issue ...

06.01.2022 Seems that some people could not see this earlier post so I will try sharing it to the Community groups again. (being repeated now): I’ve had confirmation from the consultant. The radar survey work mentioned a few days ago will start on Tuesday morning. It will probably only take two or three days. Cheers. Terry.
