17.01.2022 Water Damage Specialists When a pipe burst in the ceiling of this property the water soaked into the kitchen timber floor causing it to cup and swell. The water then entered the bacteria laden dirt beneath the flooring, causing the relative humidity to spike and provide an ideal breeding ground for mould. We dried from beneath the sub floor, drying the strip footings, the earth and the timber floor, exhausting the wet air into a HEPA air scrubber to capture mould. The builders were scheduled to strip out the water damaged skirting boards however we have inspected and confirmed there is active mould growth throughout the wall frames. This would result in mould spores cross contaminating through the house and potentially putting the occupants at risk. As a general rule if there has been a flood and the wet structural materials havent been professionally dried, it is at risk of mould growth. This property was left to self dry and is now contaminated.
