22.01.2022 I liked the shape of the copper base on this lamp and after I cleaned it with lemon and salt it took on an interesting sheen so I left it like that. This lamp has a cage to go over the globe as well.

20.01.2022 New workshop is not so new any more. It didn't take long for me to make it look very lived in and for the many shortcomings in my storage systems to show up. But I still love working in it!

18.01.2022 Mix together a Japanese blowtorch, an Australian fuel stove and an Edison globe and you get a unique Steampunk style table lamp. This one was bought before it hit the display shelf. Thanks Allison!

17.01.2022 Apparatus for monitoring the performance of a Robot's heart.

16.01.2022 The latest Brassworks project. The base is a re purposed Swedish fuel stove and I had a minor guilt feeling as I disassembled it while hoping I wasn't destroying a valuable antique. Do other makers find themselves in the same quandary?

16.01.2022 Not quite finished yet. Silver plate banjo has modified taps as tuning screws which make tuning difficult.

14.01.2022 I ended up calling this lamp "Ninety Degrees" as my creativity was taking a rest at the time. It's a Coleman pressure lamp base with copper pipe and a 95 mm Edison globe.

14.01.2022 I made this Pelican Weathervane for my daughter who lives in Pelican Court.

13.01.2022 See our new store on Madeit, a uniquely Australian online outlet for hand made Australian goods. Https://www.madeit.com.au/Brassworks

09.01.2022 The Betabot heart showing the amp gauge on the combined generator/pump apparatus, electrical impulse cables, manual key-wind emergency start and provision for keyhole surgery if needed.

08.01.2022 Just finished. A robot's brass heart mounted on a test apparatus either for repair or adjustment. Watch for the full story coming soon!

07.01.2022 Closing down again. It looks as though Platform 5 will be closed for about six weeks until this pandemic is a bit more under control.

05.01.2022 I found this antique mini compressor in an old shearing shed and modified it to make an interesting table lamp. (SOLD)

04.01.2022 Etsy or Madeit? How do you sell online in Australia? Now that our retail outlet has temporarily closed I have been looking at rejuvenating my online presence. ... Do any of my Aussie followers have experience selling on Madeit? I feel a bit overwhelmed by the sheer size of Etsy and my work seems to get lost among the millions of items on there. I'd love to hear from any of you who have had experience with other selling platforms.

03.01.2022 I have been busy (for me that is) creating a new website www.brassworks.com.au and a new online shop www.madeit.com.au/Brassworks and as you can see I have shortened the name of my Facebook page. Thank you all for liking and following this page for the past eight years or so. Cheers... Geoff See more
