25.01.2022 Put some 17 inch d hole rims and some A/Ts on this gq last week for a happy customer, some more modern tyre sizes available now for the old beast, and looks a lot better.

24.01.2022 The poor old work ute has been doing a lot of dirt tracks lately and will be doing a lot in the future ,the 19 inch tyres and wheels were not holding up too well with damaged side walls and cuts, so we fitted some dynamic load rated steel wheels with painted ford territory centre caps and some Maxxis 771 all terrain tyres to cope with its anticipated work load. The front will be raised about 50 mm in the coming weeks aswell . It already has a rtv diff with a locker in it ,so it should handle its off road duties quite well.

19.01.2022 If you have an old classic and you are looking for 14 inch tyres, we have some in stock, some that haven't been readily available in years , like 245 50 14 and 265 50 14 also some 13s and 15s in the old school sizes are available to order. Nankang have stepped up and started making them so we can buy them in aus at a reasonable price eg. 245 50 14 at $195 fitted.

13.01.2022 The old truck is getting closer to being back on the road, we have had quite a few people asking about it. Thanks Dan for the spanner work. Its running sweet. Head has been machined, had a carby kit new gaskets even the 20 year old spark plugs got changed. And a few pictures of behind the scenes including our hire ute project and race car.

12.01.2022 Both our work utes have never had interiors so clean. All surfaces wiped with hospital grade disinfectant including seats. Floor mats and dash mats cleaned and removed for now to aid with easy disinfecting should any customers need lifts home. But we are encouraging customers to drive their own cars in and out of the work shop. And practice good social distancing while we promptly change your tyres . Also note the front counter will have a plastic chain across to keep social ...distancing happening. We thank everyone for their continued support especially in these hard times.. We will keep struggling on and hope ours and other small businesses see the other side of this. Keep safe people. Thankyou Steel City Tyres.

05.01.2022 Here we are at Steel City Tyres secret testing facility testing the maxxis 771 all terrains on the work ute . Not really , we were at the karnacross event on Saturday but we did test the maxxis 771 all terrains. They did surprisingly well.very progressive and with a bit of driver input managed to get the car to do most things right. Was a great day, thanks to Graham Sheill ,Whyalla car enthusiasts group and the Whyalla city council for a great day.

04.01.2022 This supercharged VF GTS came in yesterday to get some new Continental tyres . A very sweet car . Part of history now being an Australian produced world class super car. One day will be a valuable classic.

02.01.2022 If anyone is wondering why the old truck is not out the front anymore.... The poor old girl is 66 years old and having a little minor surgery and will be out driving around again when she is fully recovered. It doesn't look the same looking out the shop window with it not there.
