The expansive precinct is spread over 2 levels and features fresh food retails, cafes, bars and restaurants. The Kitchens... not only supports and showcases local producers, suppliers, chefs and restaurateurs, but also provides customers with an educational, inspiring and activated space where they can socialise, experience, eat, drink, shop and immerse in incredible food, curator Daniel West said. 20.01.2022 Steelcad Drafting started work on this project back in May 2019. The roof structure is mostly CHS pipe truss, with Universal Beams supporting the under-slung Aramax roof. Its a complicated structure, with twelve columns in total, which are not vertical and two of the end bays are set to an angle. There are so many compound angles on this project. It has been equally challenging to draw as it has been to fabricate.... The Aramax roof has not yet been installed and this will be another challenge for the installers on site. It is to be connected to the underside of the structure and all of this work is being conducted with the 747 and 707 in situ. Steelcad also setout the temporary propping for the columns and trusses, making sure to miss the Aircraft. Technology used on this project; IFC models from the consultants to assist with geometry Point cloud survey of the site to assist in working with and around the Aircraft on site Tekla Structures for Shop detailing Navisworks for model collaboration https://www.facebook.com/QantasFoundersMuseum/videos/1370753853092107/UzpfSTY4MjA5OTY4NjoxMDE1NzUyODU5NDY3NDY4Nw/?notif_id=1572298306985316¬if_t=feedback_reaction_generic

13.01.2022 Sydney Yard Access Bridge 2017 Steelcad’s Scope: Span 1 82.7t Span 2 126.8t... Span 3 58t Cladding Panels - 40.6t A complex road access bridge in the heart of Sydney CBD, to access the rail yard. The bridge is curved in plan as well as elevation and to top it off the bridge girders are also cambered. The girder spans 1 and 2 (the box girders) are 1000 wide and 2200 deep, they were fabricated in sub assembly sections and welded together to form the super assembly. Numerous check dimensions were provided to help the fabricator keep the bridge geometry true and correct. Many challenges were overcome by working closely with the Engineer, builder and fabricator. 3D model images:

13.01.2022 We had a visit from Paul & Oskar from Building Point to demonstrate the latest HoloLens technology. The HoloLens is basically a pair of mixed reality smart glasses (Augmented Reality) developed and manufactured by Microsoft. You can see your surroundings, just like normal glasses, but they also project an image to the inside of the lens from an in-built processor running windows 10 software. You use your hands and fingers like a mouse to operate menu functions that are picked... up by small cameras mounted in the glasses. In-built scanners complete the virtual reality experience by allowing the wearer to "walk around" the 3D model of the structure. What a unique experience it is too. We were looking at the Robina shopping centre model we created for ADCO.

12.01.2022 To all modellers & detailers, we thoroughly recommend getting along to the convention and taking part in the National forum event.

05.01.2022 In early October, a team of modellers from Steelcad were fortunate enough to visit the workshop of one of our local fabricator clients and have a close up look at some of the steel plate work they were currently detailing. It was still early days in the fabrication program so there werent a lot of the larger hoppers being made at this stage, however our detailers were able to have a good look at some of the medium size hoppers and pipework branches as well as seeing the rubber lining being applied.
