12.01.2022 THE STORY - Steep&Sip Back in early 2000's, Sharn and Stephanie were introduced, and it did not take too long for them to realise they shared many of the same dreams and aspirations, including their LOVE for tea. Both girls studied and worked hard in professions caring for others; Sharn an Emergency Department nurse and Stephanie, a Kindergarten teacher. ... Their many years of friendship saw many, many ups and some downs. In 2007, Stephanie was diagnosed with Cancer. Sharn was there by her side ‘nursing’ her through a very tough time and even helping shave her hair, celebrating with a glass of bubbly! This experience brought them closer than ever before and with new strength and a positive attitude, they were out to conquer the world - well at least a triathlon anyway. So they both learnt how to ride a bike again, trained hard and completed their first triathlon as ‘Thelma and Louise’ - for fun. One day after about 6 pots of tea they were pondering over their next move; careers and a ‘place to call home’. Researching many towns from up Byron to Eden, they both knew home was always going be somewhere in the Illawarra. Sharn has been a local for over 10 years and in the past few years Stephanie made the move down from Sydney. Now around the corner from one another they decided it was time to seriously think about their ‘long-term dream’ of one day opening their own tea house close to home. Fast forward a couple of years and many more pots of tea later, they had a plan! A great plan! It was called "All the Good Things in Life Project" and life was great. And then adversity struck once again. In 2013, Sharn had been undergoing rigorous testing for sometime when in July, she was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)also referred to as Motor Neurone Disease (MND). ALS is not like Cancer, there is no chemotherapy or radiation. There is NO cure. So what now As the great Eleanor Roosevelt once saidA woman is like tea; you never know how strong she is until it's in hot water. These adversities have never stopped the lifelong dream for Sharn and Stephanie to one-day share their love of tea, and the great experiences it brings; with others. Stephanie is now more determined than ever to give Sharn this ‘bucket-list’ item of a lifetime and open their tea house for both of them to see their dreams turn into the 'best reality' possible, with the launching of a monthly market stall at Foragers Market. What a great way of achieving what they want, with what they have. They call it 'Tea-getherness'.

08.01.2022 Steep&Sip Communi-tea, Just been notified of this nomination. It is very humbling and sad at the same time. My best friend and tea partner has gone to heaven. We are no longer Steep&Sip. I miss her everyday, I miss our tea everyday. ... Thank you to everyone for the many years of support for both of us. Thank you to the person who nominated us. We had no clue this was even happening. Take care for now Steph xx
