19.01.2022 These trees are not only trees, they are highly threatened eco systems which none of us can replace when they cut up and chipped. We need to protect them now with COVID, the bushfires ... more than ever before.

16.01.2022 Thought I share with you Hello Everybody With COVID-2019 having truely reached Australia it is time to think ahead and organise support for those who may need it.... One of my initial thoughts when I read about the person who went to the supermarket after being told to selfisolate, what if you are not prepared, if need a few things. Here comes volunteering. It would be great if the supermarkets or also small stores could organise a hotline where customers can order and pay for items, that then is picked up by a volunteer who delivers it to the person front door, leaving it on the porch. ... I do understand that there are dangers, someone could run of with the ordered items, there is a danger of coming in contact with COVID-2019 ... Another aspect I thought about is people who don't have much of a social network, people may want to talk with someone, chat online ... Lets see how we can get the best out of this community. A few questions - How can we best organise such support? What dangers are out there? and How can one deal with them? I created a group to discuss all of this and potentially organise some support for individual impacted by the pandemic or may otherwise need support. Another thought of mine is pulling together a small info sheet for people who are impacted on how to organise help, like details of Coles or Woolies home delivery service or similar, where to find help, where to find someone to chat to when feeling lonely .... https://www.facebook.com/groups/672071193598840/

13.01.2022 As a society, we should learn from past mistakes not persistently repeat them in the interest of a few individuals profiteering and the majority carrying the burden. In Summary: The proposed development does not fit the unique heritage character of the CBD. Located at the boundary to the Mixed Use Zone the development provides no transition. The development creates significant hazards, poses environmental risks to workers, residents and visitors of the city. The development will have further a significant detrimental impact on traffic flow reducing through traffic flow during peak hours from 3 to 2 lanes on Macquarie Street significantly increasing accident risk and with the impact being felt across the wider Hobart Region.

08.01.2022 A comment on some international Politics: The past few weeks have been an interesting few weeks especially in regard to the US Elections. A stepping stone for President Trump hanging on to his powers as President was the election of Supreme Court Justice Amy Barrett. Over the past few weeks, we have seen a number of matters to come in front of the Supreme Court, some of which were decided 4-4 against the Republican Party with the chief justice deciding.... Now imagine should the results of the presidential vote not being absolutely clear. The matter would be advanced to the Supreme Court. With the current 8 judges, the judgement wouldn't be certain for Trump. Having put Justice Barrett into the Supreme Court prior to the election Trump has 3 loyal judges in the Supreme Court, which makes the outcome to be positive for Trump much more likely. We will see what actually will happen over the next few weeks. Anything seems possible in the US from a relatively smooth transition to a prolonged power struggle including that of a full-blown dictatorship. I hope for the first however we may brace for the latter
