12.01.2022 YOUR ONLINE DONATIONS IS GREATLY APPRECIATED God loves a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7) During this period of time when Divine Liturgies in our parishes ...are suspended, parishes urgently need the ongoing financial support of parishioners more than ever, as their overhead costs and fixed expenses will not change. As the vast majority of our parishioners give physically to their parishes in the collection baskets during the Liturgy, we are encouraging all parishioners to continue to donate by electronic means. Please click this link and select your Parish under the biller code to donate today: https://www.bpoint.com.au/payments/MelkiteCatholic. Your financial support at this critical time towards meeting your parish overhead costs and fixed expenses is greatly appreciated.

Please see below correspondence directly from Bishop Rabbat; Remember your congregation (O Lord), which you acquired long ago, which you redeemed to be the tribe of your herita...ge. (Ps 74:2) Good morning As you prepare yourself to welcome this long week-end, Labour Day week-end, I am pleased, thanks be to God, to inform you that your efforts, as leaders of the community of St. Elias Parish, as well as the tremendous works done by all parties involved have come to a good fruition. Hence, I am happy to share with you the following: Contract It is with great delight that I would like to confirm that the contract for the construction of the St Elias Church has been duly signed by both parties and is now effective and in place. I appreciate that at times, it might have appeared that the journey was passing through rocky roads, but in the fullness of time, our Lord has showered us with the patience to deliver a good result for all parties involved. Commencement of construction In addition, we have been in constant contact with SGS Platinum (Vince Shamieh) to ascertain a commencement date. SGS Platinum has advised that construction will commence on 19th October 2020, subject to the weather and other factors. Steering Committee (Project Control Group) Over the period of the coming two weeks, a charter for the setting up of a steering committee consisting of representatives from the St Elias Parish Council, the Project Manager, and representatives from the Eparchy Board of Directors will be formulated and shared with you. Technical Committee In addition to the Steering Committee, a technical committee will be established headed up by me and supported and advised by a number of technical experts on decisions related to the construction of the hall and the church. More details will also be released during the coming two weeks about the members of this committee. Now is the time, where all stakeholders need to rally together and act as one team for the sole purpose of a successful project and the spiritual nourishment of our St Elias parishioners.
