25.01.2022 Egyik kedves lakónk gyönyör énekével szórakoztatott minket. One of our lovely residents was entertaining us with her beautiful singing voice.

23.01.2022 In Memoriam Korompay Klari, by George Goor. The connection between St Elizabeth Home and Korompay Klári’s family goes back over to almost 60 years. Klári’s father was a very good friend of Pater Forró and helped him to buy the property at Dean Park. Her mother Margó was a Member of the Board of Directors for many years and after her retirement from the role, Klári was elected to take her place. Klári was a teacher, at the top of her profession, pedagogically gifted, who was ...able to communicate with everybody on their own wavelength. After becoming a Member of the Board of Directors of St Elizabeth Home she contributed greatly to the necessary improvements for the care and nursing of the Residents. Eventually she was elected to be the Chairman of the Board and her co-operation with the Chief Executive Officer and Management was a classic example of teamwork. She gave her time and wisdom generously and even in difficult times, managed to give the right advice to achieve the best possible outcome. She was Chairman of the Board for eight years and in those years she was the heart and soul of St Elizabeth Home. Upon reforming the Hungarian Catholic Community she was the President for a number of years, making the Association the proud owner of Dean Park and Ashfield. She was ably assisted by many, but the bulk of the work was on her shoulders. Klári was a valued member of the Hungarian Community and to appreciate her work, she was inducted to be a Member of the Order of Australia, an honour she justly deserved. She was a charming lady with a great sense of humour and wit, a clear mind and strong determination to carry out the voluntary works she accepted to do. She was strongly supported by her husband Tibi, all the time, in everything. The undeniable success of St Elizabeth Home can be contributed to the good and generous people of the Hungarian Community, who willingly sacrificed their time, talent and resourcefulness to make certain that elderly Hungarians have comfort and the best available care in their autumn years. Klári was one of these remarkable people, without a doubt one of the best. She won’t be forgotten! May she rest in peace! See more
