16.01.2022 Today is a very important day as Catholics. It is the first day of Holy Week: Palm Sunday. Even though we can not come together as a community to celebrate Mass, please take some time in your day to pray and reflect on the scripture piece read during Mass when we have the procession of palms ~ Matthew 21:1-11 When Jesus and the disciples drew near Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them, Go into the village opposite yo...u, and immediately you will find an ass tethered, and a colt with her. Untie them and bring them here to me. And if anyone should say anything to you, reply, ‘The master has need of them.’ Then he will send them at once. This happened so that what had been spoken through the prophet might be fulfilled: Say to daughter Zion, Behold, your king comes to you, meek and riding on an ass, and on a colt, the foal of a beast of burden. The disciples went and did as Jesus had ordered them. They brought the ass and the colt and laid their cloaks over them, and he sat upon them. The very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and strewed them on the road. The crowds preceding him and those following kept crying out and saying: Hosanna to the Son of David; blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord; hosanna in the highest. See more

06.01.2022 Today is Trinity Sunday, the first Sunday after Pentecost where celebrate the Trinity: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

06.01.2022 Dear Parents and/or Guardians Daniel Andrews, our Premier, has confirmed this morning that we will be returning to remote learning at this stage from Monday 20 July to Wednesday 19 August. I know that we would all like to be back at school, however this is a pandemic and the health and safety of all out weighs our wants at the moment. I am confident we can do this again, and do it just as well or if not better this time round. We are in this together and will do what we need ...to do to thrive and flourish. Our remote learning platforms, Seesaw and Google Classroom, WILL NOT have ANY work posted on them until Monday 20 July, as this week is an extra week of school holidays for our students and a week for our teachers to prepare for remote learning. All families within the next 1-2 days will receive information via the FLEXISCHOOLS app and CareMonkey of: * our Term 3 remote learning program * supervision of students for families who are working * iPad availability for Foundation - Year 2 students It is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that parents are checking these two communication platforms to ensure they are aware of what is happening in this changing landscape and what is expected of them. Please check with any family or friends who attend our school that that they have downloaded the new FLEXISCHOOLS app. This is imperative. Again, thank you to everyone for their support, co operation and understanding during this challenging time. If we work together, we will get through this. Finally, just a reminder that if at any time a child or a family member of the child who attends our school: * comes in contact with a person who has COVID-19 * is tested for COVID-19 * tests positive to COVID-19 the school must be notified immediately so we can implement our emergency safety plan. If any child or family member has a COVID-19 test, even as a precaution, the principal MUST be notified and the results be emailed to the principal before the student can return to school. This is a compulsory expectation if your child is attending our school. Please email [email protected] to let the school know. Keep calm, stay healthy, be kind, stay home. Christina Ferguson Principal

04.01.2022 Dear Families I hope you are enjoying this beautiful winter sunshine that we have been blessed with yesterday and today. In challenging times, like we are at the moment, we must not let the beautiful and simple things in life go unnoticed or missed. As we are now in Stage 3 restrictions, many of you, like myself, are wondering what does this mean for schools. As I stated on Tuesday, Daniel Andrews, our Premier, has extended the school holidays by a week and at this stage ONLY... staff will be returning to school next week. The Premier shortly will be providing further advice on whether school will resume onsite or whether it will be via remote learning. I am aware that for some of our families this uncertainty may be causing anxiety, especially those who are essential workers and have no one to supervise their children next week. If there are any families who think they might need their child/ren to be supervised next week in line with your needs as an essential worker, please email me directly before 2pm this Friday 10th July on [email protected] Catholic Education Melbourne, in conjunction with the Department of Education over the next few days are determining what the best course of action is required for all schools in Melbourne. As soon as I know what the expectations will be, I will inform our community via FlexiBuzz and CareMonkey. As a school community we should be proud of the wonderful remote learning program we were able to offer and implement together for our children in Term 2. Should we have to return to remote learning in Term 3, I know we will be able to achieve the same great results by working together and helping our children to continue to flourish. Hopefully in the next day or two I will be able to present further information on what Term 3 will look like at St Elizabeth's. Thank you once again for your patience, understanding and support. Keep calm, stay healthy, be kind, stay home. Christina Ferguson Principal

03.01.2022 Wishing all our families a Happy Easter today. This Easter is a very different one today, but a great opportunity to reflect on what our purpose and path is. May you spend the day surrounded by your nearest and dearest appreciating all that you have: one another.

01.01.2022 May all the men in the lives of our children know how much they are loved.
