Monies raised will go directly to Catholic Mission and your contributions through Socktober will help Catholic Mission provide essential support for key projects in countries right around the world, including remote Australia. You’ll be giving children the opportunity for an enriched life, regardless of race, stigma, religion or gender. Thank you for making a difference for children around the world through Socktober

18.01.2022 More wonderful sharing by Kinder Gold. Kindergarten have been learning all about their families. Who is in their families, where they were born and how they are all connected. They have made some beautiful family trees to share their learning.

17.01.2022 As there were no netball gala days, Netball NSW decided to run a Virtual Schools Challenge. Each week, there were different challenges to complete, such as researching indigenous sportspeople, or past uniforms, researching skills sessions and recovery sessions and trying these ourselves, creating player profile cards, copying dances of current SSN players. Year 5 worked well together as a team, guided by some students who took on a leadership role.

14.01.2022 The Mini Vinnies student group has produced a wonderful collection of books inspired by Roger Hargreaves’ iconic Mr Men and Little Miss series. The stories were borne of a two year journey, where the students delved into the issues facing homeless people in the Illawarra. During a challenging year in which the world had to endure the COVID-19 pandemic, this project helped students to focus on others and to be a voice for the less fortunate in our society. Well done Mini Vinnies group and thank you Mr Dodds for your guidance.

13.01.2022 Congratulations to Isabella and Ryan, our winners for this year’s public speaking competition! Well done!

11.01.2022 Students in Years 5 and 6 were fortunate to listen to a talk from Skye Nicolson and her coach Nudge Mieli on Thursday. Skye, already a gold medalist at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in boxing (Featherweight Division), has qualified to represent Australia at the Tokyo Olympics next year. Skye spoke about the importance of chasing your dreams, being dedicated to a cause and living a healthy lifestyle. The children were also treated to a sparring demonstration and boy, did Skye pack a punch! It was a great experience for the students and we are sure Skye will have many people tuned into watch her at Tokyo next July.
