25.01.2022 STEAM @ Stella Today Prep investigated how seeds disperse and germinate. Students looked into the life cycle of a sunflower and planted their own sunflower seed. In the following weeks they will monitor the growth of their sunflower.

25.01.2022 STEAM @ Stella This week we fossicked (prospected) for Fossils. Our palaeontologists in Grade 4 made some fascinating discoveries! The children discovered there are two types of fossils, body fossils and trace fossils. We looked at different layers of sediment. We learned how palaeontologists discover fossils and where they actually find them.... Instead of waiting for another 10.000 years students made a mixture that created an ideal sediment for creating fossils in just over two hours. Check out their amazing work! See more

18.01.2022 Grade 6 & Grade 2 buddies preparing artwork for our vision statement. Bright and beautiful

16.01.2022 And some more of the Grade 4 work

10.01.2022 In Coding, Room 15 has learned how to use different tools such as loops, sounds, lights, and headings, when programming spheros on the iPads. The class had the task to create a square that looped (repeated) twice and then added sounds and lights. Once they had completed that challenge, they had to choose another shape to create, adding loops, sounds, and lights. Bailie and Pirri decided to code a triangle but ended up with a hexagon. They added lights and sounds to it.

04.01.2022 This week at STEAM it was all about tea and grandparents

04.01.2022 Just before the holidays Mrs Williams Grade 1 and Mrs Howard's Grade 2 classes helped our dirt girl Ms Wagner by planting herbs in our planter boxes. A great change and a tasty addition to dinner

03.01.2022 Today in coding we were learning how to use different tools such as loops, sounds, lights and changing the degrees, when programming spheros. We had to create a square that looped twice and then add sounds and lights to the program. Once we had done that we were given a task to create a different shape. Pirri and Bailie decided to create a triangle. We used the same program and just changed the degrees but it went wrong and turned into a hexagon. Then we added lights and sounds to it. Bailie and Pirri
