25.01.2022 Smart regency stripes have transformed this sofa. From its former, faded ethnic style into a bold and elegant statement.

25.01.2022 Some gorgeous dining chairs re-invigorated in the Sprng Studio this week and fit for another lifetime now. The perfect choice of fabric for these period beauties.

25.01.2022 Perfectly aligned stripes and some contrast detailing on the carver arm pads, double piping and scatter cushions are adding a touch of class to this beautiful set of elegant dining chairs.

24.01.2022 In stark contrast to all the mid century jobs I seem to have been doing recently, a super cute, traditional rocking chair and matching rocking footstool for a client in Sydney.

24.01.2022 This large, circular day-bed style lounge chair has been given a wonderful new look with a gorgeous stitched foliage pattern fabric, offset with a red base and piping. Something my client had wanted to see happen for a couple of years and I was only too happy to help her achieve. We were both very happy with the results. A huge transformation from its former tired beige days!

21.01.2022 Loving the dramatic swooping curves of this Grant Featherstone chair, another road side rescue from a customer with an eye for great design, bought back to life at the spring studio. And what a find, they are worth thousands!

21.01.2022 The finished spoon back looking splendid with its gimp braid finish and shiny new brass and ceramic castors.

21.01.2022 Excited to be working on this cool little 1960s modular unit, I cant wait to see it finished.

20.01.2022 Beautiful mid century chair put right. A previous upholsterer had left large pleats across the front of the arms and wings, much to my clients dismay! That has been rectified and it is now back to looking sleek and stylish!

18.01.2022 Some refined and elegant Parker dining chairs just re-upholstered and fit for another lifetime of happy dinner memories. The owners were quite emotional to see their old family dining chairs looking so good again. Always such a pleasure when my wonderful customers really appreciate the time and effort I put into their furniture .

18.01.2022 An old and much loved wicker, outdoor setting given a make over and bought back into use and looking super fresh for Summer 2020.

17.01.2022 Cool blue sophistication with vibrant orange contrast piping in a beautiful wool fabric. I love it when my customers are brave enough to try my suggestion to mix up some colours. A far cry from its chaotic and badly upholstered former guise.

16.01.2022 Some tubular steel frames cleaned of rust and re-chromed, looking gorgeously shiny and awaiting their new upholstery. An original set of 1950s dining chairs about to be bought back to life with some Spring Upholstery magic. Really looking forward to working on these and I cant wait to see them finished! .

15.01.2022 Beautiful linen sofas complete and looking super smart! My customer did initially want loose covers but then decided to go for re-upholstery, which I was happy about as they look heaps better in my opinion! And a couple of shots of them in their former incarnation.....

14.01.2022 From beige blandness to strikingly striped. A suitably grand transformation for this elegant wing chair.

14.01.2022 My dining chair covers turned out to be rather elegant looking, very happy with the results.

14.01.2022 Massive king size plus bedhead I have been working on was installed today for another happy customer. Looked super luxurious and finished off the room beautifully. A good day.

13.01.2022 This set of original 1950s dining chairs is making me smile a lot today. The rusty frames have been re-chromed and polished and are looking simply spiffing! And the upholstery has been sympathetically re-created and detailed to reflect the perfection of the atomic age! I cant wait for my client to see them

13.01.2022 Such gorgeousness on the sewing machine today!

12.01.2022 Some old cinema seats that have been re-purposed into the nicest outdoor furniture ever! Creative, sustainable and vibrant. Up-cycling at its best. What more could you ask for?

12.01.2022 So we are in the midst of some strange times indeed. I would just like to let everyone know that it is business as usual at Spring Upholstery for the time being. Social distancing is being observed (not really too difficult when you spend most of your time alone in a garden studio) regular hand washing is being carried out and a good old fashioned dollop of common sense is being applied. Now more than ever we need to dig deep into our vast ocean of compassion and support and... love each other even more. And lets try smiling more too! It is as good for you as the person who receives it. Big Love to you all XXX

10.01.2022 Another happy customer! And yes these are the same bentwood rocking chairs that are in the picture below. Hard to believe I know! Lol. They look gorgeous in their beautiful new fabric. Very happy with the results.

09.01.2022 More mid century deliciousness at the Spring studio, simple, elegeant and just absolutely gorgeous! And my gorgeous little photo bomber companion Maggie.

08.01.2022 Massive custom, king size plus bedhead in production swallowing up my workshop. Barely enough room to get around it to work on it!

08.01.2022 A couple of old TV chairs I pulled off the street about a year ago, I finally got around to working on them and I must say I am very happy with the results!

07.01.2022 Who says red and green should never be seen?.....

05.01.2022 A couple of sofas given a new lease of life at the spring studio this week. The new lighter fabric lifted them immensely and the contrasting lumbar scatter cushions add pops of contrasting colour. A great result.

05.01.2022 Facebook has just informed me I have had 100 likes on my page so thank you to all those lovely people who like what I do. And more exciting news (can you handle it!) the modular is finished and looking rather marvellous. Such a great design, simple and well proportioned, I am loving it. Happy Friday to you all. : )

05.01.2022 Cute little bentwood armchair completed and looking delicious! The seat springs arrived separately in a bag, Lol.

04.01.2022 A week of blue chairs. This one transformed from a tired and dated beige to a gorgeous Arts & Craft inspired floral delight, befitting of any English country house.

04.01.2022 This bentwood armchair has bought a huge ray of sunshine into the spring studio, loving the vibrant print and colours of the fabric from Julie Patterson.

04.01.2022 So another customer turns up and gives me the much used line "I was going to do it myself" Lol.... Talk about biting off more than you can chew, these jobs are a challenge for me and I have been at it for over 25 years now. Traditional upholstery skills in full effect this week in the Spring Studio transforming whats left of this Victorian Spoonback into something rather refined. Just the gimp braid finish to go on now.

03.01.2022 Beautiful pair of victorian chairs given a new lease of life in a gorgeous, classic, sage green velvet and accented with a lavish gold, gimp braid. A triumph!

03.01.2022 I am loving the colour combination of these beautiful linen fabrics. Two sofas I am currently working on with a selection of scatter cushions in different sizes and contrasting colours to add some wow factor. I cant wait to see them finished and back in their home!

03.01.2022 Havent ironed a thing in my wardrobe for years now (I am an obsessive folder) but my steam iron is still essential kit in the studio for steam pressing in pleats. Some dining chair loose covers in production that are shaping up to be rather fabulous, even if I do say so myself!

02.01.2022 Award says top 25 but apparently I am top 5! Thank you to Homeimprovement2day. : )

02.01.2022 Great to try my hand at weaving a traditional rush seat in the Spring studio this week. The rush was replaced with Danish cord as rush is difficult to get in Australia but the results are just as beautiful. After a back breaking 6 hours I was finally happy with the finished result. : )
