25.01.2022 Many talk about how they want wild flowers like they see in Europe but look at what we have right here!? Our wildflowers are so unique and are absolutely stunning! Hope you enjoy this post as much as we did!

25.01.2022 I have been spoilt today and I LVE the birthday cake my sister made for me! Thank you for all the birthday messages people! Xxx #birthday #birthdaycake #rainbow #rainbowlorikeet #love #family #crazyfamily

23.01.2022 Tomorrow morning we have been invited to speak with Lou Lorback and Claire Reynolds on Dig It radio. A great radio show investigating gardens and topics around environment. We are sharing our approaches to designing with nature as well as the responsibilities we have to the environment, our landscapes and natural resources. We are currently working on a local project in their town of Castlemaine. Live on Saturday 8-9 am and replayed on Monday 11-12, broadcast on 94.9, live s...tream on mainfm.net, or listen anytime on Mixcloud after the show! #radio #gardenchat #environmentalsustainability #environmentalgardening #wetlands #digitradio

23.01.2022 Lovely progress shot of a garden we did for a beautiful family in Northcote. Like for most families with kids, play is important so we incorporated a nature play element with productive garden and luscious plantings to look out into from the work studio. This garden has it all! Thanks for the photo @maikedesignstudio #gardendesigns #natureplay #gardenplay #naturalplayground #landscapedesign #landscapearchitecture #progressshot

23.01.2022 @colljhop shared this beautiful photo of a Yellow Footed Antechinus, isn’t it just adorable! Say ‘An-tech-i-nus’. There are many species of this little marsupial throughout Australia and they used to be widespread around Melbourne areas. Take a good look at this little one as many mistake them for the introduced rat or the house mouse. We hope that one of our gardens we design will encourage antechinus, they like areas with dense vegetation, grasses, logs and rocks where they... can hide, eat insects and bask in that nice warm sun! Thanks again for the images @colljhop #antechinus #australianwildlife #habitatgarden #habitatdesign #ecologicalrestoration #helpwildlife #cutephotos #cuteanimal

22.01.2022 Balcony gardens can be tough especially when they’re subjected to sun, intense wind and construction dust! But we created a very hardy planting pallet in combination with @glowpearco planters that are a great contemporary styled wicking system! Another wonderful shot by @vivid.tones.au thanks lovely!! We are super happy with its growth! #rooftopgarden #balconygarden #hardyplants #roofparty #landscapearchitect #landscapedesign #gardendesignideas

21.01.2022 We had a great day planting out this bathroom vertical wall garden today. We think this space is a perfect place to unwind whilst peering out into the soft green tones and luscious foliage. This area will provide passive cooling and the water used to irrigate the wall is recycled by being transferred to a rain garden in the backyard. Better than a brick wall hey!? We have been working alongside @bencalleryarchitects who have aced the architecture! #smallgarden #courtyardgarden #bathroomdesign #verticalwallgarden #wallgarden #greenery #designinspiration #landscapearchitecture #landscapedesign

19.01.2022 The stunning prostanthera rotundiflolia! A fantastic native feature plant for any garden! It’s common name is native oregano and it grows about 2m H x 1m W. It flowers in September and October. Traditionally it’s used to treat headaches and colds and it also attracts beneficial insects and lizards! A wonder plant! If you live in Victoria you would also be interested with Prostanthera mellisifolia. #australianplants #blooms #flowers #flowersofinstagram #purple #plantlover #plantlife #habitatgarden #pollinators #pollinatorgarden

18.01.2022 We don’t have too many family owned businesses left after larger companies like Bunnings have taken over. I couldn’t promote Grimes and Sons any more, they are a wonderful funny family that will make you feel so welcome and stir up a giggle, they will go out of their way to help and will provide you with the best paint that has been developed over 4 generations. This local knowledge, business and expertise is rare these days so let’s make sure we add a few more generations ...to the business!! Xxx https://www.google.com.au//artisan-victorian-paint-co/amp/

17.01.2022 Challenge accepted!!! To all the incredible women of past, future and present, thank you! We must stand together, help each other out and be the best we can be to each other and to everything around us! I’m so very grateful that I have so many strong, determined, loving and amazingly talented women around me! And wonderful female animals too. 15.01.2022 I didn’t know the chicks looked like little yellow fluff balls! Very cute!

14.01.2022 A beautiful shot of the morning sun peaking through tree ferns after a consultation in Hallston near Leongatha. Such a lovely part of the world. On a sad note, I was horrified to see the amount of logging in the area, such old growth forest should be protected especially when we have so little left! ... #saveourforests #australianforest #treefern #promoteenvironmentalawareness #scenicview #scenicdrive #protectourplanet

13.01.2022 I was super excited to snap this pic of a Growling Grass Frog, Littoria raniformis on a dam conversion project. I mentioned a while ago that there is no wonder why these wonderful frogs have become increasingly endangered, this one just sat there and let me take as many photos as I wished without moving a muscle. I must emphasise that if you own a cat or dog be mindful of the ecosystems around you, these frogs like many other native animals haven’t adapted too well to predato...rs and therefor become a very easy tasty meal, and they are pretty big so a good feast too! If you own farmland, managing introduced species like Indian myners, starlings, rabbits and foxes helps the environment immensely. I know they are creatures that didn’t mean to be brought here but we must try to manage the system enough to preserve and protect our small amount of remaining biodiversity. #growlinggrassfrog #endangeredanimals #australianfrogs #earthscreatures #habitatdesign #wildlifeprotection #wetlands #litoriaraniformis

12.01.2022 Hollows. Did you know it takes up to 90 years for a small hollow to form and up to 200 years for larger ones? 17% of bird species, 28% reptiles and a huge 42% of mammals use hollows in Australia. (Gibbons and Lindenmayer 1997) . This is why young forests don’t have the biodiversity because once they loose the big hollow providing trees we then loose the habitats, nurseries and protective cavities that support a wide variety of animals. Chainsaw hollows and nesting boxes are a... good starting point for encouraging wildlife to young or fire affected forests or even your own garden. 10.01.2022 Happy first day of spring everyone and National Wattle Day! Wattle you think about this cute little Silver Eye!? Silver eyes are great little insect eating pest controllers and they have a sweet little chirp when they are all together looking for food and chatting with one an other! Hope some of you can get out and enjoy this spring day even if it’s for an hour! ... 10.01.2022 Water is the most important natural resource on earth. We should value it, protect it and ensure all our water systems are healthy. That way we can ALL enjoy nature’s priceless gifts together. Just like these New Holland Honey Eaters who are enjoying a good old bath! We truly value water! 09.01.2022 We are very excited to announce our return to the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show in 2020. We’ll be delving into the world below the surface with our garden ‘Through the Looking Glass’. You can read all about it in our latest blog post- www.stemlandscape.com/new-blog/through-the-looking-glass #mifgs #mifgs2020 #habitatdesign #landscapedesign #ecologicaldesign #boutiquegarden

08.01.2022 Another great shot by the talented @vivid.tones.au for our docklands project. While working at home it’s nice to have a garden to look at rather a rendered brick wall hey!? Go green! #courtyardgarden #greenwall #verticalgarden #mentalhealth #healinggarden #landscapephotography #landscapedesign #landscapearchitecture

06.01.2022 Throw back picture of our boutique garden that got 1st at the @melbflowershow in 2017. I designed this garden to showcase our beautiful local flora as well as how we can provide habitats for animals and how using recycled materials can look really good without impacting the environment too much. The timber was sourced from the cattle yards from our family farm which made it all that more special. 05.01.2022 We had a great day giving this front garden a freshen up. We especially love the dwarf banksias and how their flowers bring that bright yellow pop of colour. Can’t wait to see it’s growth in spring. That’s a nicely laid path @_bespoke_landscapes_ #gardening #australiangardens #gardendesign #winterflowers #planting #smallgarden #habitatgarden #wildlifegarden #landscaping #gardenideas

04.01.2022 It is so rewarding to see the gardens we design being used and loved! During lockdown little Vivi has loved this space, yes some plants may have been sacrificed from the old swing and jump but it’s provided her with her own little nature play garden during a time where the only other outside play would be at the park. Her parents were super fortunate to get their garden done before we even knew there was a pandemic coming so they played their cards right! You can incorporate... simple little nature play elements like this in your garden too! Thanks @_bespoke_landscapes_ for your handy work! #natureplay #smallgarden #smallgardenideas #kidsgarden #childsplay #australiangardens #backyardgarden #backyardgardening

04.01.2022 Wanted to post this for #worldenvironmentday Such a beauty!!! We can all make a difference, trust me! Over this long weekend take a moment to appreciate our environment and think about the little thing you can do to be more responsible in the way you live day by day. #appreciation #appreciatenature #growlinggrassfrog #endangeredspecies #habitatgarden #wetlands #protectenvironment

03.01.2022 Our lives like nature changes constantly, it’s a beautiful thing to watch them grow. This garden can vary from a play space to entertainment space to a space where family can get together around a fire pit amongst the greenery. Nothing better than a garden that can transform! @maikedesignstudio #gardentransformation #gardentime #outdoorarea #natureplay #familygarden #landscaping #landscapearchitecture #habitatgarden

03.01.2022 Such a clever solution! Such a warming read.

01.01.2022 A space is never too big or too small to create a garden that’s water wise, productive, entertaining and animal attracting. It took a little nutting out but we designed a system where partial amounts of roof water run off would feed into a large wicking bed, when the bed fills to capacity excess water flows into a paved channel which then feeds into the rain garden. We then incorporated a bike shed with a roof garden and a small outdoor space with a fold down table to maximise usable areas and green space. Construction has started so we are looking forward to seeing it all put together! #smallgarden #designchallenge #waterwisegardening #raingarden #landscapearchitect #landscapedesign
