20.01.2022 Larnach Castle. Impossible to do it justice - there's immense attention to detail and incredible restoration works that have gone on for over 40 years and continue today. A tour with audio is well worth it, and there's pre restoration photos/video on display. It has a fascinating history and it is famous for it's gardens as well...but I didn't have time this visit. Simply amazing and way beyond my expectations as a place to see.

05.01.2022 Talieri Gorge Railway - From Dunedin to Puketangi - great history from tough days...the house below has no road access- everything has to be walked or trolleyed in along a section of railway after a tunnel--but only after radio checks with the railway (no phone reception) as the tunnels only just fit the trains themselves..
