24.01.2022 Good evening everyone, this is one of our most recent new home builds. We built this large granny flat as a second dwelling for the clients mother, but really it is adequate for a small family any day of the week. These lovely clients sent us through a glowing testimonial as follows: We recently had the pleasure of working with Stephen, Jye and Jayden (Stephen Dunne Builder) on an owner build of a Granny Flat. Stephen is such an approachable person and we quickly realised he ...had the qualities we were looking for - he is very focused on attention to detail and achieving great results for the client. 24.01.2022 This pergola was rebuilt in 2004 but unfortunately due to its lack of angle to the roof system, failed in a number of ways. So we took the top off of it and basically rebuilt the whole roof, giving it more fall and the drainage system to catch the water from it. We used Suntuf, greca profile in diffused ice which has amazing reflective properties in which to say it is very very cool directly underneath the roof sheeting. We also replaced the main structural beam and built a complete new framework on top of the existing. The client and her family are very happy with the new work.

23.01.2022 Evening all, here is an update on our current bathroom renovation. The existing room has been gutted and relined now in preparation for wet seal and tiling. The external walls have been insulated as so will the ceiling when it gets lined, The client has decided to change a number of details relevant to the proposed bathroom area and we are easily accommodating her and the changes. This room was originally a photographic developing room and was never bathroom, so we have had to contend with a number of difficulties which have all come out successfully to accommodate the new shower/bathroom space. 21.01.2022 This 2 storey brick veneer home had a totally insufficient patio space at the rear. We tore it down and redesigned this spacious patio. The most challenging parts of this job were the correct set out from the ground up and the total length of continuous hardwood posts. Our level of experience enabled us to overcome these challenges easily. The end result speaks for itself!

20.01.2022 Our current job is finished now to stage, waiting upon plumbing approvals for the extras involved on this job.Here in these photos you can see where we are up to in the budget renovations. There have been new walls built downstairs as well a completed bathroom and toilet, ready for painting in this case by the client themselves.

19.01.2022 Did you know these have been found to be the FIVE TOP REASONS people complain about their builder/building works: 1. Poor Communication 2. A messy worksite/rubbish being left around 3. 19.01.2022 Evening all. Well we have gone from having a bit of a quiet spell to full speed ahead, having picked up some good contracts over the last month. We all know the construction industry is going through a quiet time so we are very grateful to now have a good amount of work ahead of us. Our current project is a HUGE 3 level property at Scarborough. One of the interesting things about this job is that back in 1986 when I had the great opportunity to be an apprentice to Tony Cleaver, we built a house at Scarborough. Now 33 years later I have the opportunity to help once again in the construction of a new built home on the very same block!! What a strange deja vu. Anyway these are some photos taken from our very first day on the job. This is an exciting project to be involved with and we are looking forward to watching it transform.

19.01.2022 Well we have finished that stage of this granny flat renovation and we are now waiting on the client to do the tiling etc before we go back to tidy it all up. Keep you posted.

18.01.2022 Our most recent job last week was to fix up leaking areas on the roof of a two storey home, including windows. Initially we had to put up scaffolding but because the building was so high and the side boundary was so slim, we had to extend stabilising rails into the next door neighbours yard. Thank God for kind neighbours I say!!!! We completely rebuilt the fixed glass window and sealed all of the obsolete hopper windows as well as replacing a couple of stench pipe flashings ...on the roof. We also utilised the scaffold to replace external cladding on both side of the house . My biggest safety concerns was the height of the scaffold relevant to how thin the scaffold was - of course apart from always wanting to produce the highest quality job, safety of the boys on the job (Jye and Jayden) is paramount. Thankfully no problems and the job was a great success. So much so that the owners have contracted us for further work this week! See more

18.01.2022 Evening all, I must apologise for our absence on our page over the last 2 weeks. Sadly I have experienced 3 deaths of family and friends over this short period as well as having experienced a quiet time within the business due to the downturn in the construction industry. Things are starting to pick up again but I am needing to attend to a few funerals over the coming days. Hopefully things will be getting back to more normality soon. Thanks for your patience!! 18.01.2022 In our latest job, we are currently working on a bathroom renovation as part of the bigger job - as you can see in this slideshow, the boys have been hard at work converting this 70s bathroom which you can see is in need of repair and renewal. Jye and Jayden will have this completely finished by the end of this week and the owners will then complete it by doing their own painting. As we said this is part of the bigger renovation where will be working on putting in new external walls and to the down stairs area. This house is high set and the owners are looking for security for their storage. This will be started next week once the bathroom is completed. I am very happy once again with the work the boys have done on this job and the owners are too!

16.01.2022 Well wishes to our Senior carpenter, Jye who has been off work this week due to a nasty stomach bug. Both he and his baby daughter fell victim to it and spent a brief time in hospital. 13.01.2022 New Granny flat completed in 2020, and what a great time had by all. The home was completed in 14 weeks and we built it for the clients mother who wanted to downsize and be closer to her family. 13.01.2022 This new home was built back in 2010 for clients living on the Redcliffe Peninsula. As you can see from our video, we demolished the existing home on the lot and rebuilt a completely new luxury two storey home. This job took 5 months to complete and had minimum boundaries on one side making the fit very tight on the particular block. Here is what the clients said a few years later after requesting further work from us: Steve and his team built our dream home for us at Scarbo...rough several years ago, since then he has completed an extension and a bath room renovation at our retirement house. 11.01.2022 Evening to you all. This is an example of one of the beautiful new homes that we have built and this was actually built for my architect at the time. This beautiful 5 bedroom, 2 bathroom brick veneer home took us around 4 1/2 months to build to completion, including the landscaping and concrete pathways etc. Jyes (our senior carpenter) father Rob helped me in the construction of the house as well as the roof. The clients wife went through 18 colours of yellow in the internal colour scheme before she finally made a decision. But we are always happy to accommodate even the smallest detail changes.

10.01.2022 Our bathroom job was finally completed last week. Here are the before and after shots....very happy with the final results as was the client!!

09.01.2022 More updates on our current bathroom renovation. The walls and ceiling are now insulated and sheeted, prepped ready for tiling and painting. The floor and shower wall have been wet sealed ready for tiling and shower screen placement. We are looking at around one more week to have this job completed. 08.01.2022 We recently did an upper patio extension to this beautiful home. The design allowed it to match into the existing home perfectly. All the materials used were top quality for endurance and selection. We used Queensland hardwood for structure of the patio and Kwila was used for the deck surface. 90mm x 90mm galvanised steel posts were also used for the substructure. This structure will last for the next fifty years at least! The clients were very particular in what they wanted and we were able to satisfy them with their every need. The end result speaks for itself.

08.01.2022 Evening all. More pics from our current job based at Scarborough- a large 3 level home on the waterfront! Have to admit that going to work is pretty hard with such a great view!! These photos were taken at the end of last week as we continue to make good progress. Things are going well and both myself and the client are happy with how it is coming along but still a long way to go.

07.01.2022 Good evening to you all. This is one of many staircases that we have done over the years. It was in a fairly rotten state, so we went to at the clients request and rebuilt it. It really only had one degree of difficulty being the inside handrail which we made it look like the handrail travels through the bay window frame. The end result?? More happy clients. 05.01.2022 This is our most recent job completed this week. It is merely a standard 1200 mm high ARC chain wire fence. There were no problems and it went in perfectly despite the heavy sandy soil requiring extra concrete. This is what our client had to say regarding her new fence- she was so happy she sent through an unsolicited testimonial for our website: "The fence line on my property had been in need of repair for months but recent high winds blew it down and so I needed to get it f...ully replaced. 03.01.2022 Our current job is a granny flat renovation. In these photos it shows that we have taken out of the internal cladding and this will be replaced with modern materials. We also be insulating certain walls at the owners request. Over the next few days this will be completed and we will be updating photos as we progress.

03.01.2022 Another update on our current bathroom job. As you can see progress is being made and completion is near. We have struggled a little bit on this job as my Mother has gone into palliative care over the last few days and I have not been able to spend the time I would normally be able to. However, Jye and Jayden have picked up my slack adequately and the client is very happy to date. This end of this week will bring the completion to this job.,

01.01.2022 Hi everyone, hope all is well and that you all got through the weekend of the great lockdown AOK. This job was started in the last week of work before the Chrissy break, we wanted the slab to cure over the break so it was ready to lay the tiles on a dry surface. We are back on the job to complete the laying of the tiles to create an extended pool deck area. We will do a follow up at the completion of the works next week. Sionara for now.
