25.01.2022 The reason we pay council rates every year is to maintain our parks and amenities, it is not appropriate that ONLY Keysborough South residents are forced to pay an additional $350.00 over and above everyone else in the City of Greater Dandenong. It’s unfair, it’s been going on for many years. Those facilities are used and made available to all people in the City of Greater Dandenong.... Now more than ever, especially with Covid-19, people are going through tough times and we need to work as hard as we can to remove it. Greens candidate Rhonda Garad said, I don’t support removing it, because the council need extra resources to maintain the extra parks and gardens. But residents should be getting more timely, quality service. At the moment, they’re not getting it. Ramy El-Sukkari said the maintenance fund was initially intended to last for just three years. Now there seems to be no end-point, he said. He has sought an explanation on what the levy was used for, given its reserve fund held a surplus of about $1.7 million. We’ve got people affected by Covid and families are really struggling. So is the $350 levy justifiable? Can it be reduced? Is there a way of scrapping it all completely? https://dandenong.starcommunity.com.au//levy-debate-cross/

22.01.2022 Throughout my life, I have always focused on serving: serving my customers, my employees, my family and my community. I was lucky to learn early on that if you focus on serving, success will eventually follow. I’m conscious of the fact that benefiting others is the key to personal satisfaction. Seeing your efforts going towards helping others, putting smiles on their faces, and contributing to a better society and community gives you a sense of happiness that money can't buy.... Giving back to the community in any way is something that we all should do whenever we can. I apply this philosophy in my personal life, in my business, and with my business partners. I believe in serving, and I am looking forward to doing the same in the Keysborough South Ward. I want to help this community which has given me everything, and ensure the right decisions are made so that it is supported moving forward. I have a reputation for working hard and getting things done, and want nothing more than to make my family and my community proud. So please, help me help our community. Together we can achieve great things for our future and our children's future. When you receive your ballot, Vote #1 Stephen Fanous. I promise you will not regret it. Thanks to everyone for your support, it means a great deal to me - and please, if you ever have any issues or concerns you would like to discuss feel free to contact me on 0482 904 135 or email [email protected]

22.01.2022 "There are a lot of people that promise things in life, but Stephen is actually one of those that consistently delivers on his promises. This is a man that is committed to the Council long term, and I believe that he's going to provide an invaluable contribution if he gets elected." - Matt Heins, Chairman, We Care Community Services I'm humbled by the words from my friends and colleagues in our community. I grew up in housing commission. With the support of my family, the op...portunities our community provided, and sheer hard work I’ve become successful in business, which in turn has allowed me to be a big supporter of our community through charity work and fundraising, as well as working with various organisations and clubs - something I consider to be a great honour. Now, I want to take what I think is the obvious next step to focus on the community by running as a council candidate for the Keysborough South Ward. I want to help this community which has given me everything, and ensure the right decisions are made so that it is supported moving forward. I really want to make life better for people in my community, particularly for our youth. I have a reputation for working hard and getting things done, and want nothing more than to make my family and my community proud. So please, help me help our community. Together we can achieve great things for our future and our children's future. When you receive your ballot, Vote #1 Stephen Fanous. Thanks to everyone for your support, it means a great deal to me. 14.01.2022 In September 2019, I lead a team from MarketPlace Fresh to hike the Kokoda Trek all in the name of charity! We took on this challenging adventure to help raise some much-needed funds for the inspiring charity, HeartKids Australia. The team certainly agreed that the Kokoda Trail’s reputation of being a huge challenge is warranted, especially as we carried our own packs. Towards the end of the Challenge we also picked up the pace to finish in a remarkable 7.5 days. We trained ...incredibly hard and the support we received from our family, friends and community was incredible and very motivating in finishing the mentally and physically challenging adventure. Myself and my team at MarketPlace Fresh want to make a difference for the amazing kids’ by raising some much-needed funds. Myself and my team at MarketPlace Fresh raised $55,000 on Kokoda for HeartKids Australia. https://www.humachallenge.com//Trekking-Kokoda-for-HeartKi

03.01.2022 Thank you Sinan and Nizar for your support.

03.01.2022 "He's got the expertise, the business acumen, the community standing to be a terrific representative for the City of Greater Dandenong. I support Stephen and his opposition to the waste management plan which is proposed in Ordish road." - Councillor Peter Brown Thanks Councillor Brown for your support. There are two important issues in our community which I’d like to focus on in this post. Firstly, the proposed Waste to Energy Plant. This is an enormous health risk for all re...sidents in our region. We can’t allow it to go ahead. I will ensure everyone in our community receives a petition, and work hard to gather the required support to fight and stop it. Secondly, did you know that the additional $350 maintenance levy that we pay each year is only paid by residents of Keysborough South - even though the associated facilities are available to all people in the City of Greater Dandenong? No other ratepayers in the city of Greater Dandenong are required to pay this. I believe this is unfair - now more than ever. I will advocate to remove this levy from our rates notice and commit to personally visiting every home to request signatures for a petition to deal with the issue once and for all. I am committed to our local community; I have a reputation in our community for getting things done, and if elected to Council I’ll do so more than ever before. So please, help me help our community. Together we can achieve great things for our future and our children's future. When you receive your ballot, Vote #1 Stephen Fanous. Thanks again to everyone for your support, it means a great deal to me. Please contact me on 0482 904 135 or email [email protected] if you have any issues or concerns you would like to discuss with me.
