09.01.2022 A recently published Poem dedicated to Stephen Phillips by a Patient on what they got in touch with many years ago when they first came to him. Speak Body, Spe...ak Mind The body speaks to the brain, "I'm hurt, be depressed" or "I feel good, laugh." The mind speaks to the body, I don't like this much, stomach get sick, or "That's beautiful, generate energy, run." When there's stress communication stutters. If you fall your minds numb but every muscle seizes to protect itself and stays seized until it feels safe enough to relax again. Some hurts are so deep the brain doesn't know they've happened. The trauma of birth, the trauma suffered as a baby recurs, years later. You don't know why. Never bonded with my mother I now realise, nor she with me. Born months premature, separated at birth, Mum to another hospital to recover, me, fed but otherwise abandoned. The Doctors said, There is no hope. He wont survive. Every year around my birthday I'm flattened by any virus floating by , a low period. Is it my brain saying, Its that time again, get sick, or my body saying, This new thing, life, is it too hard, just give up. Note: Sometimes we need to get in touch with deep pain and hurt in order to move on and heal our physical and emotional selves.
